My name is Alison, I am owned by my ten year old Brindle Boy Frankie, race name Frankie Stratton.
Frank is my first greyhound and I have had him coming up for five years, he raced at Harlow although not very good only winning two in his entire career.... It never crossed my mind to own a Greyhound, having a wide range of other breeds in the past including Rotties, Lab's, Jack Russell's, Mongrels etc, but was introduced to Pat and Mary and never looked back since. I am not ashamed to say that Frank is completely and utterly spoilt rottern, as many people know! Frank does exactly what Frank wants to do, he sleeps in my bed with me, allows me to get on the sofa now and again, eats his favourite take aways from Chinese to Indian, is a star in his local pub and a real character.
I have never felt such unconditional love from a dog as powerful as Franks, he really is my best friend, my ray of sunshine and love, he has been through some very difficult, lonely times with me, and is a credit to this fantastic, gentle breed.

i'll go second!
im cassie and im owned by the most handsomist big black boy called bertie, race name "cunning bertie" he is my best friend and is always there for me (i sound so sad!) he is spoilt but not as spoilt as frank :-P
He lives with two jack russell puppies (lilly and scamp) and an oldie called suzy. He is like a gentle giant with the puppies letting them jump all over him (he gives them the odd kiss too ) and cuddles up to suzy in the evenings (who used to hate any other dogs!)
I also wasnt meant to get bertie, i was just donating blankets to a stray kennel but a week later i took him home and have never looked back. He is the most amazing dog that i could ever ask for and i wouldnt change my handsome baby boy ever :-)
bye!

Hi all...
well some of you know me already but for those who don't then here we go..
my names Stuart but you can call me Stu (or as my female boss does, Stuey..) but not Stupot lol.
Helen is my partner and you may see her at walks too. We have 2 greys, the gentle Jeddie and the loveable yob Ozzie. Jeddie (raced as Jeddies Banker) won 11 races out of 95 and Ozzie (raced as Never Alone) won 26 out of 109. Jeddie retired in 2007 and Ozzie in April 2009.
We live in Hornchurch, near the Country Park and often go to Belhus Woods to walk the dogs also.
Good luck with the new site!!!!
Stu

Hello I'm Yvonne, a walking stick wielding pensioner with arthritis in both hips and spine and I live with a 5yr old black girl called Cassie who I met at Ockendon Kennels 16 months ago. I wasn't going to have any more dogs after I lost my old Dobie but read in the national press that retired greyhounds made fantastic companions and RGT were desperate to find homes for them. So I reckoned a home with me was preferable to a life stuck in kennels and as I'd never known a nasty greyhound or one that pulled on the lead, I thought GO FOR IT. I was a bit worried at first as to whether I had made the right decision BUT she walks beautifully on the lead, I can now walk further than when I first got her, she loves and greets all my friends and neighbours and most of all we love each other and I wouldn't be without her(except on cold wet mornings over the park). I also like knowing that if I should have any problems at any time, our local Greyhoundhomer people are always there to help me Yvonne

My name is Mark Wilson, I'm now responsible for the website that will be and this forum, hopefully none of it will prove to be totally unfamiliar to you. There are certainly some new features in this forum. I've prepared some help files already and once we've got our webspace one of the documents will tell you how you can create Avatars, the pictures that appear below your forum name. The help files will appear as links in the main website and as links here in the forum. I started out as a walker for Greyhoundhomer just over a year ago, and still walk on Saturdays and Sundays with the regulars on those days. We now have our own hound called Sean or Seaney, racing name was Hipsway Sean. See picture below: We turn out for walks and shows whenever we can, and are looking forward to this years Stifford Show which of course Sean will win LOL! My wife (Emma) and I live in Langdon Hills at the edge of Basildon, and for those who didn't know we're expecting our first child which is due at the end of May 2010.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Jenny and I am mummy to a most beautiful blue six year old greyhound girl called Mousha (racing name Blue Moucha).
I had never owned a greyhound before Mousha and having now been her mummy for about 19 months, I am asking myself why. She is so gentle, placid, affectionate, loyal and well behaved. She is my baby girl and I absolutely love her to bits. I call her my Cuddle Monster because she just loves to snuggle up to you and be cuddled and fussed. I try not to spoil her rotten, but she just has this way of looking at me that melts my heart and anyway, she totally deserves to be spoilt.
Mousha is a truly gorgeous girl, both outside and inside. I feel so proud when absolute strangers come up to me when I am walking her and say how gorgeous she is. She just stands there good as gold and lets people make a fuss of her. I have also had people ask me what kind of pet greyhounds make. I just tell them of a saying that I have heard concerning greyhounds - that is - "Once you go grey, you never go back"! I have to say that this is totally true for me. This noble, gentle breed has totally won my heart and so has my beautiful girl Mousha.

First of all thanks to Mark for setting up and running this forum, Thanks to Alison for keeping me posted and forwarding the address for this soon to be thriving site. We were known at the previous site as truthsbeauty, this was because we only had our beautiful sky when we joined and truths beauty was her racing name. We now also have Tommy aka Brindle Hawk and have had him for almost a year now. We are Steve and Allison and are Greyhound crazy whom love em to bits. We have a large family of 5 kids, 2 pampered Greyhounds and 2 Hamsters (Dog food according to Sky). We look forward to getting to know everyone on this site, sharing experiences, tips and hopefully much more. Please feel free to say hi back and get to know us.

Hi all, my name is Tracy and I got my hound Paddy nearly two years ago from ockendon. We all love him madly, he is really funny and is always making us laugh with his antics. It was his birthday a few days ago, he's 4 now. Will try to post some pics of him but I'm not very good with computers

I'm Sue, loving servant of greyhounds Blue (Battersea Dogs Home) and Lou (Ockenden) who enjoy a celebrity lifestyle here in Surrey. They have their own fan club since featuring in the greyhoundhomer calendar and also in our blog, www.indigodream.wordpress.com, which features our travels around the countryside in our narrowboat Indigo Dream with many photos of our two hounds in action. So far we've met narrowboats with one greyhound, two greyhounds, three greyhounds and FIVE greyhounds on board - they do take to life on the water, not least because there's not enough room for them to lie on the floor so they simply HAVE to be allowed on the beds/sofas! Blue and Lou have a house as well - I don't have quite enough fingers to count the number of duvets/sheepskins that they have scattered around their two homes :-) We'll look forward to keeping in touch via the forum though we mainly put photos on the blog so we may add a few links if we have a particularly doggie post.

I was really pleased with the photo's, I'm ok with a camera but my son's really into photography but its hard to get an 18 year old to come out walking the dog with his old mum. It was such a beautiful day when he took these photo's but very cold, Paddy does wear a coat but when he has a good run I take it off otherwise he overheats but I put it back on when he's finished racing about. I will enter some photo's for the next calendar, have just put up this years one, I love the one of Frank .
