Has anybody noticed that moistening the complete food improves the consistency of the poos? I feed Cass her complete food dry, with some vegetables and Prize Choice minced meat or fish added, but no liquid. If anybody is interested our Tesco has frozen chicken thighs at £2.00 a kilo. Yvonne

bertie used to eat dry biscuit and his poop was solid but did used to cough lots up so i started to soak in water, and his poop still is solid. :-) it helps with digestion and keeps him hydrated as he doesnt seem to drink much water :-)

Today I have started soaking Cassies dry food a bit, so tomorrow we shall see if she's any firmer. Yvonne

His Lordship has fresh mince every night mixed in with a tin of Chum, but he is also partial to: Chicken Chowmein, Kentucky, Pizza, Lasagna, Peanuts, Lamb Korma, Marmite on toast, McDonalds Milk Shake, Croissants, Stilton, Baileys, Cider, Porridge, but he is not spoilt! Sounds a bit like ours then ;D You forgot to add Spaghetti bolognese, Alison. They'll rip your hand off for that! ;D A lot of people think dogs are carnivornes, but they are not, correct me if i am wrong but they are omnivores? We give ours Supa greyhound mix, with tinned meat, but also table scraps as mentioned, including vegetables, and various other things, to cater for their omnivore type diet. I know various greyhounds have sensitive stomachs, so such a diet wouldn't be suitable for them, but we are lucky, fortunately, and can give a varied diet.

Mark I've done it at last, I am now buying Mad Dog Marketings Hypoallergenic chicken and rice. Cassies poos have been getting worse over the last couple of months, don't know if James Wellbeloved has been changed in any way, so I went for it. It's half the price of J. W. and to me its ingredients don't seem much different. I've had one 15kg bag and today I ordered another 2. I live in Hornchurch so if anybody is thinking of changing food if you contact me I'd be happy to give you some of mine to try. Think the 2 bags inc. postage came to about £43.

I live in Hornchurch so if anybody is thinking of changing food if you contact me I'd be happy to give you some of mine to try. Think the 2 bags inc. postage came to about £43. We've now changed Sean onto a Greyhound Maintenance which we get from our local Cornwall Farmers store. I can't remember who makes it, but it's only about £13 for 15Kg and Sean seems to like it, his output (usually 2 or 3 a day) has been fine. We found his output greatly improved though with both Mad Dogs food and this new one when we mixed in some 'real' food in each meal. So he has some chicken roll slices in his morning meal, and then some minced beef and two sausages in with his main meal late afternoon. I can get 3Kgs of minced beef from a local butchers for about £8.50. which lasts about 3 weeks. I get them to weigh it out in 1Kg bags, freeze two and cook one up.
