I'm going to collect Sean today, the full recovery could take upto six weeks, and keeping him as quiet as possible will be the quickest path there. So back in about five and a half hours...

Ah bless him it's going to be hard going to keep him resting for six weeks if he is anything like mine. And also good luck with him not licking!!
Beau is the world worst at trying to stop him, he cut himself quiet badly awhile ago, and we had to muzzle him to stop him licking and making it pour with blood, he was not going to be stopped he started to get to it through the muzzle, so my husband taped the lower half and then he rubbed it on it. So I really hope with all his fuss that I know he will get that he heals quickly and is a good patient not like Beau.

We also have the licking issue, but fortunately all the 'bad' bits are in unlickable positions. Any other bits I find a bit of Vet Wrap does the trip.

Oh no, the poor boy, Looks really painful. I want to reach into the picture and give him a big (gentle) hug.
I hope he starts eating soon, I know he has his gourmet chef there so he won't be able to resist tomorrows sausages I'm sure!
Healings hugs coming his way

Awwwhhh, bless him Mark. It looks so painfull. Poor boy, he probably will just want to sleep and sleep now, just knowing he is safe now he is at home. He probably doesn't understand whats happened to him. Hopefully he will bounce back to his former self as each day and week goes by. I hope he managed to eat something for you tonight. Good luck Mark, and sending love and hugs to Seaney from us too. Get well soon boy. xxxx

Thanks for all Seans good wishes, he's without doubt on the mend I have seen a small improvement even since yesterday. I boiled him up 500g of white fish for breakfast this morning since he's supposed to be on a 'bland' diet for a couple of days, so I'm off to Tescos later to nab some more of that £1.75 per frozen bag, not bad, Asda are a couple of pounds on the equivalent at the moment. So the challenge going forward will be keeping him reined in so he's not belting about all over the place.

Just calling in to check on Seanie, and so pleased to hear that you can see an improvement Mark, and that he's eating. May be in a few days you can make him a steak and kidney pud and some roasties then. ;D What is he allowed to have with the fish at the moment? Well done Seaney anyway. Thats the idea....keep your Dad on the run

Once he's gone though his couple of days of bland food I'll be feeding him everything under the sun that doesn't give him the trotskis to get his weight back up, then we'll reign it back gradually as the weight starts to go back on. He's just back from having a pain killing patch applied to his neck, hopefully the last one. He's showing a little weakness in his front right leg and back left leg, but hopefully as the recovery continues and he gets his strength back this will clear.
