That's great Yvonne.
In my never ending quest for tooth enhancing products I did buy some fragaria, but as the instructions said not to give 1 hour either side of food, and not to handle but dispense directly in their mouths I was struggling a bit with this. Both hounds were prone to spit it out, even though it's tiny and I still had to handle it. So I will try putting it in their water. Ps bought mine form Vio vets

I find that using a rubber Kong stuffed with a treat works extremely well. Ted really goes to town on the Kong and it's kept his teeth pretty tartar free.

I think I put on a (now very ancient) thread somewhere....
....that Bren has a kong thingy, I put the requisite biscuit/treat in, he was interested for a nano-second then licked it, sighed the did what greyhounds do the best, went back to sleep, Nellie's shown no interest, either! Do I have the laziest hounds?!.........

I don't touch the pills, they come in a dispenser which I use, I just drop one on a moist piece of Cass's dinner. Sadly Cass isn't interested in playing with toys, balls or other dogs. She did however find herself a friend last Autumn and the result was fleas. It was a hedgehog, perhaps she'd prefer a spikey ball !!!!

Sarah how often do you give Baby fragaria now. I gave Cass 1 a day in her food to start with and occasionally dropped one in her water bowl. I'm giving her one a week now and the results are amazing (no brushing at all) .Cass had half her teeth covered in scale and 98% of it has gone, it's unbelievable.
SueB the Dorwest herbs Fragaria 3c are so small if you dropped one on the floor you'd be very lucky to find it.

I use plaque off and have done for about a year. I find it really good and a tub lasts for ages. It seems to soften the tartar so that when they then chew something like a dentastix it is more effective.

Frageria - tried Holland & Barrett who suggested I tried Pets at home - no luck there either.

Thanks Lee for that. I'll get Helen to get some for me.
Lily had some teeth out a few weeks ago. Although I regularly clean them and use PetzLife Oral care she had 9 teeth out!! I bought Prescription TD dental care 'biscuits which the vet recommended which she likes. Trouble is I have had to teach her to chew because she was swallowing them whole and they are not cheap to buy.
Hope all is well with you and Fizz

Darcy went in for a dental today, after reading about poor Prince and Lily I was dreading the pain of extractions (his gums, my credit card) but am relieved to say that he just had a scale and polish and his teeth look fantastic. I use plaqueoff so it will be interesting to start again with a nice clean set of gnashers and see how it works then. Fragaria sounds good, I'll wait until I've nearly finished my current pot of plaque off and see how his teeth are then.
After his anaesthetic he was laying spark out in the living room, occasionally whimpering for a fuss but looking really stoned. We thought we'd got away with the evening walk. Ian went upstairs to get changed and as soon as he set foot on the stairs to come down again Darcy leapt up an charged Ian in his usual lunatic fashion! We had a short walk and he's now laying on his bed spark out again.

Our Greyhound who we got 7 months ago always had very bad breath - he had a dental check and they said that he needed one extraction plus clean under anaesthetic. The vet quoted over £500 for this (including clean) plus an extra £50 for blood tests which they recommended. They said it could even be more if in the procedure more teeth needed to come out. This seems extremely expensive - does anyone know any vets who do dentals that are more reasonably priced - I'm based in Herts. Thanks!

I don't know any specific vets in Hertfordshire but "companion care vets" which are located in Pets at Home stores are usuallyfairly rereasonable.
