Hello everyone, my name is Ann and I am the lucky lady owned by the very glamourous and beautiful Susie Q, she has owned me for just about 4 years and she is just wonderful. She is a regular sight in Ockendon where we walk every day and lots of people know her. Mike, my other half, is always amazed when he is out with her and gets so many people saying "hello Susie!" . If I go out without her, I get complete strangers with worried looks, asking me "where is your dog, is she alright " such is life with a superstar, she is the bestest friend and I cannot imagine life without her. Also, she was the first dog that Pat handed me when we visited the kennels, how did Pat know that we were the perfect couple !!!! should say the perfect "triple" as Mike loves her too and she adores him.

I'm a bit confused here. Sonny came via the RGOA in Ockenden. Are you all part of the same? ie the RGT and RGOA.

Hi Andy, The RGOA (Romford Greyhound Owners Association) is a seperate organisation to Greyhoundhomer RGT. The two organisations have their Kennels almost next to each other at Ockendon. The RGOA used to be located in Dry Street which is a road in Basildon, not far from the Hospital. Now this bit Pat can correct me on if it's slightly wrong, but I think I'm correct in saying that Pat and Mary initially homed some dogs from the Harlow track, and sometime afterwards moved on to having a Kennel full of dogs at Ockendon. The RGOA moved into Kennels at Ockendon after Greyhoundhomer.

The RGOA moved into Kennels at Ockendon after Greyhoundhomer. Thankyou for taking the time to explain that to me, Mark, and much appreciated. The only reason i asked was that when our white greyhound, Ruthie (who came from another rehoming kennel) died, we then saw her litter brother (Sonny) was up for re-homing, and he was in the Ockenden Kennels? I initially rang Pat, who was absolutely lovely, and very helpful, and put us onto the right track to find him. However, it is the 'Ockenden' thing that has confused me, and as said, thankyou for explaining. I enjoy doing fund-raising, and try to do my bit for my three girls rehoming kennel, however, would also like to do fund-raising for Sonny's (RGOA kennel) and the RGT. Things are much clearer now And as said, many thanks.

Hi i am steve, my wife mandy and i have just homed rodger from the kennels in ockenden. he was still with his trainer patsy when we went to meet him, he was a really nice man who showed us all around his patch, he even introduced us to his new pups. everyone we dealt with was first class. rodger has settled in really well, its only been 2 days, he is so chilled out it seems like he has been here for years. will post some pics soon.

Hi Ann,
I will second that, Susie is well known round Ockendon, I normally get my cuddle from her outside Tesco's.

Hi Steve and Mandy I'm so glad you are enjoying your new addition. We are owned by Betty and we've had her 7 weeks. She was also one of Patsy's dogs. We took Betty to see him yesterday. I have to agree about everyone at RGT Okenden - they are all first class Nicky
