Don't know if I am giving Cassie too much food and this is what is making her a bit loose. I feed her more than my Dobies used to get, they had an hour n half hours of free running a day, were in an agility display team and did tracking with my husband. Because of my walking, Cass only gets 1 lead walk a day so is no where near as active as the Dobies. She is still lean with no fat on her(wish I could say the same). I feed as follows. Breakfast 6ozs or 160grams of complete food + a desert spoon of yogurt Afternoon tripe stick or slice of pigs ear or dental chew or slice of cold toast Dinner 10ozs or 270grams of complete food + 6 ozs or160grams of a mix of mashed potato veg and minced fish or meat (I don't do leftovers) + a desert spoon of yogurt Bedtime 1 bonio I feed a 50/50 mix of James wellbeloved and Chappie complete. Wafcol didn't suit Cass at all, and her poos are no different on the 2 biscuit mix to when I fed just James wellbeloved, the only difference is the price. She rarely leaves any food and eats it in one go. Cass weighs 30kg. Sorry this is so long and drawn out, but how much do you feed your Grey? Thanks Yvonne

We give Seaney (who's around about 33Kgs in weight) the following, 200g Mad Dog Marketing Greyhound Maintenance for breakfast with a half sachet of Wainwrights wet food mixed into it. Then for tea he has 300g of the Greyhound Maintenance with the other half of the sachet. Then there's the inevitable treats in between mostly by Pedigree. His output although not bullet hard is generally very easy to clear up. So that diet seems to work well for him. He's walked at least twice a day for a minimum of 20 minutes, but more often 30 minutes. Fortunately with Greys it's easy to keep an eye on their weight and because they're meant to be lean, so increases and decreases in weight are easily spotted. We've found Sean to not be a greedy dog, in other words if you spilled your 15Kg bag of Greyhound Maintenance all over the floor he's not going to think it's Christmas come early. However it might be a different kettle of fish if it were a nice juicy steak or a nicely roasted chicken!

Betty has 2 slices of toast for beakfast. She has the odd treat during the day and her main meal about 4.30 when she has Walfcol (2 and half mugs) mixed with a tin of Butchers choice, or tin of sardines or chicken or left overs and a pint to a pint and a half of water with 1/2 an oxo cube. She also has a dentastick at bed time. She also eats all her food but is not a worrier for food, she doesn't search out food or steal it. in fact if we eat near her she doesn't even bother to see what we have. Nicky

this question often comes up and its so interesting. I'll be honest and say that we dont get the expensive food.
Jeddie has 1 tin of Tescos (not blue stripe!!!) meat and 2 handfuls of tescos complete dry food at 6.30 am when Helen wakes up. Ozzie has 1 & a half tins and 3 handfuls of complete dry. Jeddie is around 28Kg and Ozzie around 32-33 Kg.
Evenings its the same again and weekends its 5 moist weetabix (this time it is the cheap tescos blue stripe..its only weetabix) and then they each get grilled sausage and scrambled eggs when i cook breakfast. There are treats, a dentastix each to distract them when i leave for work and of course reward dog biccies for doing there bedtime wee outside in the garden. and yes.. they of course have the odd pizza slice, chips and sunday roast..
They probably each have a loose day once every couple of weeks, and if that happens its boiled rice for a day.

I have recently put storm & apollo onto a raw food diet as i found that apollo seemed to have food intolerances. They have for breakfast weetabix - 7 for apollo & 5 for storm mixed with milk. Dinner is either rice or pasta, with 1tsp seaweed supplement, 2 tsp garlic supplement, 1 cod liver oil tablet & either raw tripe, tin of sardines/mackerel, butchers tripe, natures diet sensitive, raw/boiled egg, raw chicken wings (apollo only as storm refuses to eat them) and then once a week they have some veg mixed in too.
Before i put them on this diet apollo always left us pancake batter to pick up instead of poo! bless him, we tried a number of different foods including gain 20, (which apollo simply would not touch), burns (which made them both lose their fur) & vitalin (neither of them had any energy & they both got very dandruffy coats) they have only been on this diet for about 6 weeks but it seems to really suit them.

bertie just has 3x 3/4 of a mug of greyhound20 biscuits with a tin of butchers split between his three meals. he also has "earya's" (treats) throughout the day and tripe sticks of an evening :-)
but i water down all his food as bertie doesnt seem to know how to use his teeth, he just swallows everything whole!!!

Dinner tonight was 275gm (measured by science plan 'beaker') Greyhound Maintenance, supplemented with leftovers of roast chicken, carrots, sproats, and gravy. For dessert (only because she was hanging around and looking pathetic), the piece of cheesecake I couldn't manage.
Cassie, like Bertie Fizz's food doesn't touch the sides.
She has now crashed out on the settee. Mind you if I was to offer her a gingernut she wouldn't refuse!

its all trial and error when feeding your greyhound which is what i am finding out, prince is 28.5kg we give him 2 eggs with watered down warm milk and cornflakes for breakfast, and for dinner he has a cup and half of wofcol and warm water plus 2 sausages, he will also have a pigs ear a day plus a yogurt and some frolics but they are treats because he is so well behaved we find his poos are solid, he only has one runny one in the afternoon so far so good.

Hi, do you still use the seaweed supplement? Have you noticed a difference? I was thinking of getting some for Fizz. Thanks Lee

Yes I do & I think it does make a difference if you buy it from a tack shop it's much cheaper than if you buy it from a doggie shop!
