I've just had a phone call from a very distressed friend who lives in the Thriftwood development between Shenfield and Brentwood. Her 12 year old tan hound, Blondie, has run off during their usual evening walk and has now been missing for 2 1/2 hours. As I said, Blondie is elderly and is deaf and suffering from kidney problems. My friend is beside herself. If anyone lives in this area, could they please keep their eyes peeled, especially as the temperature tonight is going to plunge. Thank you.

I am so sorry for the delay. I tried to log in the next day with an update, but couldn't log in. The good news is that Blondie was found late that night, which was lucky as the temperature went down below freezing. I couldn't go to help with the search as I have two children at home at it was late, but some of my friend's neighbours helped her and were the ones who found the dog. She had found her way into the garden of someone who puts food out for the foxes (!?!) and was happily munching away, oblivious to the mayhem she'd caused. My friend no longer lets Blondie off her lead at night now, and we think that there is a possibility that she is becoming a little senile. We took all three dogs (Elvis, Lucy and Blondie) for a really long walk on Sunday, but as soon as Blondie got back to my house, she pooed in the living room which she's never done anywhere before. Anyway, thanks for all the good wishes. Bron x

its great news that she is found safe and sound, when i hear about these lovely greys missing it makes me want to help and search but most are not really lost in my area.. but anyway i do like the happy endings that they are all safe and well.
