Sorry, Pat I would like to help out with some of these (when I can get someone to help getting Brennan into the car, he still has to be lifted in!), but we're away next week. (First time taking him to stay anywhere else, so may be interesting!!) Sue

Hi Storm & Apollo's Mum Thanks for this. Did try this orginally to no effect, but not lately, so will try again. Mind you he is usually so scared ( and literally trembling) that don't think even cheese would motivate him. But it might after some rescue remedy, so will try that, too. We've just had a storm* ( not even a v big one) and I've never seen a dog so frightened, so had gave him fair bit more than the recommended 5 drops, poor dog is looking a bit spaced out, but now very calm! *Regretabley not your lovely houndie, but the drastic kind of weather! Sue LOL! He's the opposite of Sean, he manages to sleep through storms, fireworks the lot...we were surprised - we were expecting him to quake like the cats.

Betty doesn't like storms We had trouble getting Betty into the car when we first had her and I thought we'd have to lift her in forever However, Pat showed us how to lift her front end in first, then lift her back end in and said she'd soon get the idea. After a while she did (much to my surprise, as she did it when we least expected it). She now jumps in and out the car with no problem ;D Nicky

Though thinking about it, he was already pacing and hyperventilating before there was any thunder and with the added effect of quaking from nose to tail by the time there was thunder! I do hope he will gain more confidence in time! Has come on quite a bit, but very slowly.

Hopefully it will come, if we keep trying. Tony had been trying the front legs in first bit, but somehow didn't quite work , so he's had to pick him right up. Decided we needed a new car and were not sure whether to get an estate or if hatchback was enough , so after doing a test drive on saturday, went back on sunday with Brennan and did a greyhound in boot test! Poor Dog! But he did have the last laugh, as despite me saying to the salesman, shall I bring a blanket for Bren to sit on, when we took it out, he'd still left quite a few hairs in the car!
