Hi all
Has anyone on here tried the Pedi Paws Nail Trimmers advertised on TV on their greys? Was just wondering if they were any good for greyhound's nails as I am too scared to clip their nails myself and was wondering if this might be a better alternative
Thanks
Sally

From the reviews and people I have spoken to that have tried them they are as much good as a chocolate teapot! If you do decide to give one a go though you can pick them up very cheaply on ebay or Amazon. You may find just clipping a small amount of nail off followed by giving the nail a file with one of those big metal files is an easier and better option.

Hiya Sally, Those nail trimmers you're talking about, my son bought me one as a New Years present. I've since given it back to him. Firstly, it takes 2 batteries, and unless you use re-chargeable, it's going to cost you a small fortune in batteries, and secondly, it is basically just a small drill type of thing with a round sanding drum attached instead of a drill. I use a Dremel myself ( mains ) which I find is perfect for my Grey's nails, and he lets me do it. So far I haven't hurt him, or made him bleed, as the clippers can and do, so my advice, splash out a bit more in B&Q, or similar. My thoughts only, and may not be the same as someone else's.

I bought one of those Pedi-paws only very recently at a considerable price of £25! However, on the advice of a friend, i sent it back and managed to get one on Amazon for around £6. A big difference! Verdict? Save your money. Sounded very impressive, but i didn't find it's action particularly impressive. I don't like to use clippers on mine as they have black claws (apart from Sonny) so therefore cannot see the quick so easily.
However a friend recommended a large file which you can get in DIY stores. That is now my preferred method. Slowly but surely.

My preferred method is to take Frank to Pat's Ooops! and let him cut them! I used to take him to Wylies and it was a case of getting him in a head lock, wrestling him to the ground and hanging on for dear life, with Ooops! he literally stands there and lets Ooops! cut and dremel away.
