September Update
Welcome to our update for September where you can find out what we have been up to during the month.
As the summer show season comes to a close we now have a few weekends free where we can get our breath back. We just have a meet and greet at Pets at Home to attend this month after which we turn our attention to the Christmas events we are attending. Time to brush off the reindeer antlers, Father Christmas hats and elf costumes – and that’s just for the dogs!
During September we attended a number of events. What a difference a couple of weeks make. From very hot Orsett Show to wearing lots of layers at the Weald Country Show. Our thanks to everyone who helped during the show season. These events are a lot of fun and are so important in our efforts to home as many of our hounds as we can. Next year please think about volunteering to man the stall, bring kennel dogs to the events and promote these wonderful dogs to the public who desperately want a greyhound but just don’t know it yet.
We do not walk our dogs if it is raining heavily. If walking is going to be cancelled we will announce it on our Facebook page. If the weather is looking like it might be bad please check our Facebook page before setting out.
This month saw five dogs going to their forever homes. We said goodbye to Hope, Tommy and Blue. Mandy and Scott having been fostered have now been adopted by their foster families. We wish all of their adopters many happy years with their hounds.
Homing in October is already looking promising as Missy has left us for her new home and we have four dogs reserved due to go home shortly. Fingers crossed for another great month.
