It is with some sadness that I am writing to you to announce my retirement at the end of December. I chose to retire because I disagreed profoundly with the rebranding exercise from the "Retired Greyhound Trust" to "Greyhound Trust". I am however very proud to have lead a fantastic team of volunteers for so many years, and hope some will continue helping find retired racing Greyhounds new homes in the future.
At present the future of the branch itself is uncertain, but rest assured if it doesn't continue its work, any Greyhounds in our kennels will be rehomed via other Greyhound Trust branches.
Also retiring from the branch at the same time as myself is Mark Wilson, who has run the website and been part of our work for many years. So at the beginning of the New Year the website as it stands now will be taken down and replaced with a holding page.
In addition to the website being taken down our forum will be frozen and made read only, so it will not be possible to create new user accounts and it will also no longer be possible to make new posts to the forum. If you want to retain forum access you might like to make a bookmark / add it to your favourites from the link above.
I would like to say a big thank you to all staff and volunteers both past and present for their support and time over the years, we could not have been as successful as we have been without you all.
Kind Regards, Pat Philpot

I am sad to see you go Pat but can well understand your reason. I wish you well for the future. I too am extremely disillusioned by the re-branding of the RGT. I hope that the branch will be able to continue even if as a tribute to you for all your dedication and devotion over the years. I will offer my limited services in any attempt to continue the great work carried out by the branch.
Dave (and of course Ted and Ruby)

This is such sad news, I am not sure of the ins and outs of the rebrand. But I am so thankful for all the work you have done and for helping me find my 2 hounds x

As a greyhound owner and lover, I would like to say thank you for all your love, dedication and hard work that you have given for so long. We only met a couple of times at the shows but I loved every moment of them, so thank you again. Also to Mark many thanks. Fred and Lily (Keston Arrow)

Congratulations on your retirement Pat. No idea on what the RGT/GT are doing but sad it means you're leaving. I will always be thankful to you for matching us with Lily. She is the most wonderful little hound and we love her to bits. Its amazing the amount of greyhounds you have found happy homes for, alongside Maureen and Tom and all the volunteers. Wishing you the best in your retirement xxx
