Dear Pat, I trust this note finds you well. Things have been a bit overwhelming on this end over the past weeks… Thanks for the help with the information for Stanley, we figured out how to get the new passport fixed relative to the rabies shot with the help of that information. He is currently in Denmark with Charlotte’s best friend Else and is doing great. Charlotte is too! Stanley and Charlotte met for the first time outside her hospital about 10 days ago and she was soooo proud of him, her dog! The quick recovery from what Charlotte has gone through is dependent on several things, particularly peace, rest and an iron will come fully come back. Charlotte has all of that going for her. The additional help and support around her is keeping everything in check, and where her family has been amazing. Now we are making a call to all friends and dog friends around to increase this cheerleading team for Charlotte – feel free to share the posting below in your chat room on the web site. I have therefore today started Charlotte's Cheerleading Team. As you know, Charlotte had a severe brain hemorrhage on Wednesday the 30th of September. I was in Singapore… Very professional and immediate help brought her from an open care clinic to the Helsingborg Hospital in minutes; where they realized what she was struggling with after an immediate CT Scan. Charlotte was then sent in urgent ambulance transportation to the Neurosurgery Clinic at Lund’s University Hospital – where they not only saved her life but also performed a highly successful surgery. The first couple of days were dicey in intensive care. But on the Sunday morning a few days later, Charlotte woke up and started talking with a clear mind. She was moved to Helsingborg’s Lasarett on October 6th, where the medical and physio therapy teams were simply wonderful in bringing her back to herself with daily improvements. Charlotte had another CT Scan about 10 days ago and everything looks fine. She also had an angiograph done last Wednesday and has an upcoming MRI exam in the next couple of weeks. The medical team has gone all in to ensure that Charlotte is absolutely fine. Charlotte’s real journey to full recovery started a few days ago. She has now been moved to rehab in Angelholm and will be there for some time - in an environment which is full of people of 70 and older and then with this Danish girl full of energy. She is amazing every day! Charlotte is a real fighter, and is determined to be fully back in action again with the first goal being to walk with our dog named Stanley. She has bigger goals and based on the fact that she is now unplugged from life's stress and realities, she has also started healing inside relative to ridding herself of the past and things that she should have dumped out of her mind a long time ago. Charlotte is at peace with herself in a way that I have not seen before in our five years together. Charlotte will need all cheering and encouragement on this new journey towards full recovery. Her brain is all there, and she has quickly picked up on speaking Swedish (as she has to, to make it work every day). Her right arm and leg are both starting to come back, why she eats with her right arm/hand, she can write (but it takes time), and she can walk shorter distances holding on to a railing with her left hand. But, the journey is long ahead and she will have to continue to be very determined to get all the way back to where she came from. Many of the exercises she is put through daily are completely exhausting her, but she also sleeps like an elephant at night, which is a novel idea for her. We are also playing memory games and laying (still simple) puzzles. She absolutely loves it! With this note, I’m recruiting you to be part of this effort. A postcard from you guys as part of Charlotte's cheerleading team would make her very, very happy! This is how you can send a greeting to her (note - absolutely no flowers allowed)(but a fun little game is always welcomed): The Brave Ms. Charlotte Bindslev c/o Södra Sjukhuset, Avdelning 41, rum 1 Västersjögatan 12 S-262 53 Ängelholm Sweden Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of Charlotte's cheerleading team! Kind regards Kjell Adstedt

my card is on its way, along with my best wishes for a very speedy recovery love pat Dear Pat and the whole GreyhoundHomer RGT team,
first and foremost, heartfelt thanks from Charlotte for your two cards! They made her soooo happy! Also, thanks for being part of Stanley's mum's Cheerleading Team!
Charlotte is making steady progress every day, and it is very inspiring to be a direct significant part of this new journey. She is a real fighter and makes amazing things happen every day. She gets diplomas for major breakthroughs and her wall is already full of them. Still, she has a long fight ahead to reach her goals, to be 100% recovered. We are getting the best help we can find and thankfully, several of my clients are leading investors/scientists in the field of life sciences. It is always good to have a sounding board, even as the Swedish health care system has performed remarkably to date. They have not spared anything to ensure that Charlotte is both medically sound and now by providing her with extensive therapeutic treatments.
We take things week by week now, as it before was on a day to day basis, and in the very beginning on a minute by minute basis. Charlotte is medically in perfect condition, albeit with a scar in her brain that we now all work on healing as well. Particularly the very brave Charlotte!
Note that she gets very encouraged by her now extensive Cheerleading Team and all postcards with encouragement are helping her towards her goals - the first major one is to walk with Stanley again! She can't wait!
Thanks for every thought in this process.
Warm regards,
Kjell (Charlotte's partner for life)

Dear Pat,
I trust this note finds you well.
We have all been worried about Charlotte’s drop foot – typical stroke handicap, which makes walking very difficult.
Since the past weekend, we have trained her to lift only her lower right leg, and trained her to try to press my hand away or towards her. Away worked just fine but nothing happened in the other direction. We could sense some nerve endings starting to “talk” in these training sessions – but no real life.
But, today, her right foot came alive so that she can both extend away and pull the toes towards her. Tons of love has gone into this foot over the past couple of weeks and today it rewarded Charlotte. The physio therapist was hugging with her at 4 pm today as this is simply a HUGE Positive Development. Charlotte called me and cried her heart out of joy. She will be able to walk completely normally with some more training.
Simply awesome day here!
Hugs to you from us!
Kind regards Kjell Adstedt
