If anyone is looking for a lovely place to stay in Suffolk - this is the place. Old Reading Rooms, Wrentham. www.oldreadingrooms.co.ukCentrally located between Oulton Broad, Lowestoft and Southwold. There is a small courtyard garden but plenty of walks nearby. It isn't cheap but accommodation is excellent and they are very greyhound friendly. If you phone, tell them Patrick's Parents recommended you and you will get a very warm welcome.

Just adding a note to this thread..........we were in Suffolk last week and went to a lovely little Tea Room in Southwold, called Tilly's www.tillysofsouthwold.co.ukThey have a lovely courtyard where you can sit with the doggies, fresh water available, lovely and clean, gorgeous menus - afternoon teas to die for - but best of all an awning which covers the whole courtyard if the weather is a bit dodgy and heaters during the winter. Can thoroughly recommend it.

I second that re;Tilly's. We are in Suffolk a lot from April to October and visit Tilly's regularly. The tiered tea's are fab (especially the boozey one . The staff in there are very friendly too. Well worth a visit if you are in the area Nicky

Looks nice, Eve. Can feeel a day trip to Southwold calling- at the very least!
When we were in Devon recently we noticed how much more dog friendly they were, we had so many people come up to us to ask about and make a fuss of Brennan. And many pubs and cafes welcome dogs. And even last weekend in Broadstairs, where we regularly go, people just stopped in the street to come and say hallo.

I know that feeling - some friends came up to see us on Thursday and we decided, as there was some hint of sunshine, to go and sit on Southwold Pier and enjoy a hot chocolate. No sooner had we sat down than a stream of people came up to make a fuss of or talk to and about Patrick and greyhounds. Our friends, who had never been out and about with a greyhound before, could not believe the attention he attracted, despite there being plenty of other dogs about, who didn't get a look in! lol.
Apparently, there is also a fish and chip cafe in Dunwich which allows dogs inside :-) Well done them! Also the Anchor at Walberswick will allow pooches in the bar, although there isn't much room for a greyhound to stretch out, but the food is stunning.

The Cross Keys in Aldeburgh allow dogs in. When we took Betty she decided to lay in the middle of the floor!
