I think some people that come on the forum use boots for their dogs that suffer with corns. Cass has a problem with all 4 paws and the vet that hulled out 2 of them said to use boots to extend the time between treatments. How good are Therapaw and do they stay on? OR are there better ones. I've been using the paw covers that I got from Ockendon vet and they are good as they stay on but aren't waterproof and don't have a hardwearing sole but last ages. Price isn't an issue, but ease of putting them on Cass and comfort is. Any info or ideas welcome, as coping with these corns is becoming a trial for me. I have to go in hospital for an op on my spine and I would like to make things easy for my friend who is going to look after Cass for me. I drive Cass to the local park so she doesn't have to walk much on hard surfaces, my friend doesn't drive so Cass will have to walk to the park. Thanks

Therapaw are very good - they stay on fine as long as you get the size right! The small fits quite nicely on a small/medium greyhound paw without a bandage, but you need an extra large to cover bandages/dressings or for large greyhounds (like our Ty) - but the extra large is a bit floppy on an undressed foot. They're really tough and well-padded BUT they are not waterproof either.... If you don't need it to be padded you could try Pawz paw protectors - pawzdogboots.com/ - they're like thick rubber balloons that fit over the foot - waterproof and brilliant for keeping dressings dry! We've used the large (good for unbandaged feet) and the extra-large (for bandaged feet). Good luck - hope you find a product that works for Cass :-)

We use a Therapaw boot for Gucci's corn and I really don't know what we would do without it - the difference when he is wearing it is incredible! They are easy to put on and the velcro fastening allows you to secure them quite tightly. We put a fairly thick baby sock on Gucci first to avoid it rubbing. He lies (or stands) very patiently while we put his sock and boot on and both he and Scoby get excited when they see them as they know it means they're about to go for a walk! The boot stays on very well on walks - we've never had a problem - but I suspect that it would fall off if we let Gucci run about off the lead, as when he has his mad moments around the house when he's wearing it (ie just before we go on our walks!) it sometimes falls off. As he wears his boot outside all the time, Gucci's nails get very long on that paw, so we do need to clip them a bit more (which he hates!) Gucci is a biggish boy and he wears a size T/E. We bought him an indoor Therapaw to try, too, (called a Cushy paw) which is more like a slipper, but we found it falls off. I would highly recommend Therapaws. They certainly aren't cheap but they are well worth it! I hope this helps.

Correction: I meant to say that the LARGE size therapaw is good for undressed small/medium greyhound feet! Sorry!
