Hi everyone, Bertie was diagnosed with a bad liver last month after losing weight, dilated pupils, quick breathing and not eating. He was prescribed denamarin 425mg which seemed to make a difference but all of a sudden he has gone off of his food- but he will happily eat pasta/rice or human food! He has lost a lot of weight and now you can easily count 9 ribs he has never been a skinny boy since living at home....has anyone got any ideas of what we can do? He is 10 years old and a very big boy so I know his age is very good. I only work 2 days a week and have spent all my savings on him so vets are very difficult to afford right now - obviously if he was in pain or suffering I'd get the money from my mum but money is very tight. So symptoms e has: *tired- sleeps even more than normal *rubs his head *losing weight *loss of appetite *quick breathing *groans a lot like he is constantly stretching He still asks for a walk and wags his tail a lot so he is happy... His heart is healthy as he had it checked and his blood test came back with his liver results. Any help would be fab!

Hey, I read that last night. We bought him a new toy today and he actually livened up a bit and wagged his tail lots we have bought liver, heart, mince, chicken and fish and are in the process of mixing this with rice as he seems to like eating that! Hopefully this means he will get his appetite back and start eating again

Hi Cassie When prince lost weight from being ill, I bought blocks of Frozen chicken mince from my local pet shop which i cooked for him. it helped put his weight back on. I do hope Bertie will be ok and is bouncing around in no time. Diane
