First of all I'd like to thank the Forum. We've had Paddy since March, from Elaine in Bishop's Stortford, and I've visited the forum a couple of times for advice. It's been very helpful and calmed our fears about things that others have experienced and are actually nothing to panic about - eg night cramps!
Needless to say living, with Paddy has changed our lives - it's exhausting being loved this much! ;D
This time I couldn't find quite what I needed so I've had to declare myself and sign-up to the Forum.
Since we've had Paddy he has always had at least 3 poos a day (morning, lunchtime and evening) but sometimes, particularly on longer walks, he will have 2 or 3 poos on one walk. The first is normally fine, but then the 2/3 poo will be very soft and sometimes even quite runny.
Having walked dogs for a rescue charity before, I know some dogs will 'force' another poo as they don't want to go in their kennel later. So I thought this was something he would stop doing once he realised he was getting 3 regular walks a day.
We've thought about changing his food, but he otherwise seems perfectly healthy - glossy coat, clean teeth, sparkling eyes and 'wow, isn't life great' character.
We currently feed him Alpha Maintenance (19% protein) mixed with a little Prize Choice raw, minced meat or tinned tuna to give it a a bit more flavour. He has rawhide and vegetable chews that he loves and gravy bone treats.
Is this normal for a greyhound? Should we be worried?
