Hi all, Bryan has provided us with a document via his friends in Germany which concerns the removal of corns on Greyhounds toes. I tidied up the word file provided and re-presented it below as a PDF. Because no one from Greyhoundhomer or the RGT can verify the process the document is provided as is, and may or may not work, and if you choose to try it you do so at your own risk. Neither Greyhoundhomer or the RGT can endorse it as a verified solution. If you do try what is suggested in the PDF I'm sure we'd all like to have feedback from you good or bad, so everyone can be better informed about it's success rate. www.greyhoundhomer.co.uk/pdfs/PossibleGreyhoundCornRemedy.pdf

Thanks for this Mark, Bryan and German friends. Being very wary about what I use on Cass I shan't use the rock salt as there have been reports of dogs being ill when licking it off their paws in icy conditions. I am intrigued by the vodka though, wonder what that does? I'm off to buy a bottle, so if you see an old girl and a black greyhound staggering down the road you'll know it's us. Seriously, I shall steep some banana skin and dandelions in it , along with a small pinch of salt that I put in my Koi pond and see what happens. Bubble bubble toil and trouble.

Trawled the net about rock salt, and yes it's taken days but it suddenly came to me that the dogs were ill because what they were licking off was so concentrated. I've bought sea salt crystals to use ( no additives) when the time is right. I've got one corn on the move using dandelion sap and banana skin but the problem has been not much sap in my dandelions and me not being good at getting on the floor to dab the corn. But today I have found a nice convenient supply of dandelions over our country park car park. Cass lays on the back seat after her walk, I go and pick said dandelions and using jewellers eyeglass apply the white sticky sap and it dries on the way home, no more crawling over the floor except to tape banana skin on at night. When corns are able to be wiggled in pad I shall apply the Vodka and salt mix. Lets hope this works. Apparently you have to kill the blood supply to the corn because if you don't it will return ( that's what my vet told me when I asked her to cut it out )
