prince has woken up this morning limping. he was licking his pad last night, and again this morning. when i checked there is no cuts but his back pad on his front leg is a little red. i`ve put some anticeptic wash on it and covered it so he doesn`t bit it. could anyone advise me pls??

Diane Sorry to hear about Prince, poor boy after he was so poorly earlier in the year. Can't really advise except to say might be worth having a very close look with a magnifying glass to see whether he has a thorn or splinter that you could then take out with tweezers. Hope he's ok PS Just seen another post from Lee- might be worth a go.... greyhoundhomer.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=medical&action=display&thread=1390

could it be a splinter of glass from when we went out yesterday?seems to be a lot of it left on the pavements again ::)I'd like to make the people that smash it and leave it lying around walk over it in bare feet and see how they like it ;D.Hope he's ok after just recovering from his illness

try soaking it in warm salt water and see if there is a puncture hole where a foreign object could have pierced the pad, it will be a very small hole as once pierced it then closes over the object.if so see if you can get the splinter out, if not then it is a vet job to xray and see where the splinter is pat
