Because he's incognito - i.e. he's been renamed - I just thought I should let everyone know that Herbie in Sue's post/pictures is in fact Tiny Tim that Elaine rescued last year from the pound after he'd been found dumped.
He's doing really well - a bit excitable around excitable dogs which seems fair to me - but a nice dog in every respect, who seems to know that he's found somewhere that's safe and comfy. He hasn't got so much of the haunted look about him although he still does melt your heart - if he's naughty, you can't be angry because he just gives you the big doe eyes. He has this very cute habit of puffing out his cheeks for no reason and he has an excellent bark on him, very manly and not like the effeminate whimperings of the rest of the males in the pack!
He has his first trip on a narrowboat in January and took to it like a dog to water..it was on the choppy tidal Thames and he had to wear a big life jacket but he didn't bat an eyelid, so we've obviously got another excellent crew member there. He even managed a ride on the DLR quite calmly so he's getting the experiences in.
The next step is socialisation classes which I think will help enormously. Curiously, he met the mother in law's cocker spaniel either side of a baby gate and didn't do anything, wasn't interested in the slightest. It's when he's out and about with his pack mates and sees something noisy and bouncy that he reacts so I'm hoping some concerted exposure to the mad puppies of the local class will assist!

Very well done with Herbie, he looks great. Goodness knows what he had to endure before Elaine took him and then you took him into your fold of houndies! By the way how on earth do you cope with them all on walks?

Four each (hubby helping) in the morning, then I do two runs in the afternoon/evening. Keeps me fit!
