My son LOVES Marmite but never eats his crusts and so they have always gone in the bin. This morning I accidentally left the bin open and Simon was eating the crusts before you could say Marmite!
What I would like to know is whether it is ok to give marmite to dogs as I am sure he would enjoy my sons crusts on a regular basis!

Well, I never imagined that the hounds would like marmite but there you are!
The only thing I'd worry about is the salt content but if it's only a small amount it probably won't hurt.
When I was a student I worked in a factory canteen and used to get told off for not buttering the bread right to the edges and into the corners - maybe you'll start skimping on the marmite so that the dog can have crusts - if that happens you're not mad, you've just become a greyhound owner :-D

Yes I am worried about the salt content, although I read in "Dogs Today" that Battersea Dogs Home use Marmite in their interactive dog toys. Thanks for your reply and if anyone else has a Marmite dog please let me know!
