Hi all, recently I've been making Fizz and the other dogs homemade cheese and apple muffins. I thought I'd give that a go rather than getting the shop bought treats all the time. I'm no cook, but they came out OK. They went down a treat with Fizz and the others. Because they came out OK I'm going to give some of the other recipes a go. Just out of interest has anyone tried baking for their dogs, and how were the homemade treats received? Lee

I tried making some carrot cupcakes yesterday, they came out more like rock cakes. Cupcakes, rock cakes, Fizz didn't mind she eat them anyway. Lee

When we went to get Patrick, Pat and the girls were cooking mince for the dogs - there was a huge steaming hot pile of it on the work top. While we were momentarily distracted, a certain pooch (!!!!) stuck his whole face in the pile and very happily started chomping his way through it. Ever since, he is very quick off the mark at stealing food - hot, cold, warm, he's not bothered, just tucks straight in. This morning it was a warm croissant.

Hi, I've been using the recipes from A La Bark Baking. It's a great book, I'm no cook but the recipes are easy to follow. Fizz has been enjoying what 'ive been making so far. Lee

Recipe as given to me, I've only done cheese and cheese and garlic.
1 Cup grated mature cheddar cheese 1 Cup strong wholemeal flour 1 tablespoon of SOFT butter (easier to work in) 1 teaspoon garlic powder ( NOT SALT) I don't always add this or sometimes I do half with and half without 1/2 cup of milk
Mix everything together to a thick paste consistency ( I use a fork) Roll out to 1/4 inch thick cut into shapes
Bake at 180degs C for 20 mins or until dark golden brown Switch off oven and open door slightly. Leave biscuits until they are cold.
Variations :- Marmite with a reduced amount of cheese Add finely chopped carrots or add chicken seasoning.
Cass and her doggy pals and me and my friends like the cheese and cheese and garlic.
ENJOY

I have done lots of recipes from the a la bark baking book (and the book raises money from hounds too) Ben loves the lamb meatloaf and had a sardine cake for his birthday. www.alabarkbaking.co.uk

A La Bark Baking - Chester's Cheesy Chomps definitely recommended for hounds who are far too nosey and want to stare at other dogs and shout at them The first sniff of a parmesan flavoured biscuit and Paddy craned his neck round to me in an instant Jo
