Well I finally got my first lay in for what seems like a year! Didn't take Bertie out til about 9 this mourning, well everything was going perfect, no cats or pigeons to chase on the way to the field! Then once we have done our lap of the field I walked him round the outside on the pavement. To get the the pavement you have to walk through a car pArk...well as I'm cleaning up after bert this old lady in her mobility scooter went past, but she had a twig stuck in her wheel thus making the hare noise that the race track made.....I've never been pulled across a car park so fast in my life! The poor woman got Away unscathed, if not a little concerned to why a dog is chasing her! I managed to calm Bertie down, after holding him still for about 5 minutes!! I don't know if it was a "you have to be there" moment. But it did make me chuckle- after the initial pulling stage! All I've want to ask is: Bertie, Since when does the lure look like a lady in a scooter?
And has anyone experienced this before??

Hi Cassie, I modified your post to get rid of the empty space at the end of it...back on subject, we have had dogs at the Kennels that jump about just through hearing the lure, and some that freeze and refuse to walk. Lunchy was one that used to jump about a bit on hearing the lure. There was a black and white dog (might have been Rooster Bustino at Elaines, not sure) that used to be very hard to walk round the field because he used to freeze and not want to walk forward. So sound alone can be a big thing for Greys I'd say.
The only time we've been pulled round a car park was at Marazion in Cornwall, but that was because a rabbit ran across right in front of Sean - needless to say he was very interested! Strange place for a rabbit though because we were right on the edge of the beach.

Berts awful when at the kennels on a sunday! He howls, jumps, pulls, wriggles and does anything possible to get to the track! He loves anything that moves, which was worrying when we brought scamp home but he adores the puppies, which is lovely! My friend who used to look after Bertie owns loads of rabbits- bert lays there all day at there pen just staring at them- it's a hard life isn't it! Sorry about the gap- it's my iPhone that does it!

Yes, so did i have a good chuckle!!
And yes, I can testify Lunchy did indeed rear up, pull and generally go mad when I took him for a test walk (or should I say drag?!, him not me!) when choosing a hound. I didn't realise they were racing greys in the end field- and I ended up in the hedge, hanging onto his lead for dear life. ( Poor Lunchy, do hope he finds a loving home soon!)

Jeddie will chase anything (apart from our cat) and over the kennels one sunday heard the hare on the track, the fuss she made!!! it could translated as "please, please, please, ohhhh why not? all the other dogs are.. i hate you" then sulked like child who cant have an ice cream.
i took over to watch but that wasnt enough.

Daisy is the same when she hears the lure we where on the field at the kennels and she got free and run right on to the track, same as when in the past we have come down on a sunday all she wants to do is be on the track.
