That's a great achievement - your dogs are such a credit to you.
I think that the awards are well worth doing - not just from the 'proud mummy' perspective - we've found that it's made quite a difference to Blue and Lou's general behaviour (or should that be to ours!).
Funny you should post as I was going to get in touch to ask you about the silver award. We're thinking of doing it with Blue and Lou in the autumn but we're not sure about the 'play' requirement - they don't play, especially in the training hall with lots of other dogs. How did you find this bit of the test with yours? Any other greyhound pitfalls that we need to work on?

How did you find this bit of the test with yours? Any other greyhound pitfalls that we need to work on? Charlie loves to play, and if you throw a tennis ball will chase it pick it up and return it to you, he is such a puppy at heart. Ruby loves playing with soft toys, so I throw a soft toy for her and she retrieved it for me. Tia, looks at you as if to say "you think I am going to fetch that for you, think again!", so what I did with her was throw food across the hall, she ran after that ate it, then I called her back to me. The object of the exercise is to show that your dog can have fun with you and then be called back from the play to you. Hope that helps, any other questions please ask and I will do my best to help. Angela x

Thanks for the advice, Angela, much appreciated. We're starting classes again in the autumn so I'll probably be in touch again with more questions then - our trainer is totally chaotic so a second brain may be a great help.
Good tip with the food - Blue and Lou will do anything for liver cake and I have made them a sock toy with a little velcr0 pouch where I can hide a piece of food (very Blue Peter!) - haven't tried it yet - they're too hot to move at the moment so our garden is full of undistrubed rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, foxes..........
