Well well well, what a champion, Got home yesterday and its as if it was meant to be. He scanned the house and selected a suitable place for his bed, heavens forbid i should choose it myself LOL!! Once that was sorted he explored the garden. Was expecting the first night to be hard but just a couple of whines and that was it, he was as good as gold. Not even a little mess in the morning heard him whining downstairs about 6.30 this morning so went down let him out in the garden to do his business. Billy is a complete STAR. Last trial is today when i take the kids to school, going to be a lot of people so hope he doesnt fret too much. Thankyou greyhound homer for our wonderful edition to the family Nikki, Simon, Viggo, Jecht and Billy

yup just back from our first school run. He was a little nervous but seemed to adapt very quickly. One womans comment to her son when she saw the muzzle was a bit upsetting, but took a big deep breath and explained why. Think we found the smallest dog in the world which Billy was very interested in, only just cleared Billy's ankle, was hilarious LOL!!!

Unfortunately you get people who don't understand the process of owning a retired greyhound, normally once you explain they are better around them and sometimes tell other people why they have a muzzle. Sounds like billy is doing fantastic! Bertie has learnt that kids=treats!

I take Baby to pick my son Kieron up from school, and she absolutely loves the fuss she gets!!know what you mean about the muzzles,i used to hear kids asking why she had one on,and their parents saying it was so she didn't bite anyone!!it used to drive me mad!!!thankfully she doesn't have to wear one anymore

so glad he is doing well.
I think everyone on here will agree, now you have a houndie, you have by default signed up to a life time of explaining and educating the public about them. It can be a little frustrating a times, but ultimately it is extremely rewarding, and to watch your houndie grow and settle as they adapt to home life.........priceless

Well done Billy I took Betty into pre-school on her 3rd day with us and she was a star, letting the children stroke her - even stroking her fur the wrong way!!! She has also been to youth club with 70+ children in a church and didn't bat an eyelid. She is now their mascot!! Nicky

ahhh.......... 'why does your dog have a muzzle, is it because he's really dangerous'??!! heard that one many many times! and just like all our friends on here i spent many occasions explaining! but joe dosn't need his muzzle anymore, he can't get enough fuss no matter who or where its coming from!
