Hello everyone
Thought I'd introduce myself.
I adopted two beautiful greyhounds (Come on Flo and Finleysmonica) from Greyhoundhomer way back in 2007 and I named them Sunny and Sophie. They were beautiful souls and they were my life for the 10 years that I knew the joy of their company.
Although they were brother and sister and looked similar physically they had very different personalities. Sunny was exuberant with a huge zest for life and thought everyone was his friend. He made us laugh many times a day with his cheeky antics. His greatest joy in life was running like the wind and we were fortunate enough to have access to a huge enclosed field where he could indulge his passion to his heart's content. Incidentally, Sunny won the Retired Greyhound of the Year competition at the Great Greyhound Gathering in 2007 and in March 2008 appeared live in the studio at Crufts with Ben Fogle and Clare Balding. Sunny was one of a kind for sure.
Sophie was sweet and beautiful inside and out. She was highly sensitive and preferred to be in her own home with the people she knew and loved. She wasn't as sociable as Sunny though Sunny gave her confidence when we were away from home. She saved our lives twice with her high sensitivity: once by detecting a gas leak which was so dangerous the engineer that we called out immediately disabled our gas supply; and once by alerting us early to a fire in our garage. Sophie was, and still is, my heart and soul.
Sadly, they both passed away in 2016 within three weeks of each other. Sunny went first and Sophie was broken-hearted and followed him three weeks later. Two years on I am still dealing with my grief.
After their loss, although I did not feel ready to adopt any more greyhounds myself, I still wanted to have greyhounds to care for so in June 2017 I set up a home boarding service for greyhounds called Always Greyhounds Home Boarding (because for me it IS Always Greyhounds). This had been dream of mine for years but circumstances had never been right. So now I am lucky enough to earn my living looking after beautiful greyhounds all day long. There are pictures on my Always Greyhounds Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Always-Greyhounds-Home-Boarding-520099061492352/) and my website (https://www.alwaysgreyhounds.co.uk) if anyone is interested.

PS: I'll add a photo of Sunny and Sophie when I can figure out how to do it!
