Hello all, I just wanted to let you all know the state of play with regard to the Greyhoundhomer group continuation post Pats retirement. At the moment myself and most of our regular band of volunteers are planning to continue rehoming hounds post Pats retirement remaining based at the Dunton kennels with Tom and Maureen. We are all of course sad that Pat is retiring under these circumstances and totally understand the reasons why, it has not been a nice year dealing with all the issues, and has at times been very upsetting, but for me personally and volunteers we have so far spoken to, the bottom line is that we just wanted to keep rehoming hounds as long as is possible. I have been in contact with Pat and she is totally aware of what is happening, inothing is being done behind her back, and she is happy for us. We will continue working with the Greyhound Trust and the branch will be called Greyhound Trust Dunton (formerly Greyhoundhomer), a new website, overhauled Facebook page and Twitter accounts are in the process of being created and will be launched in the near future. If you are interested in helping, volunteering, meet and greets etc , please post here as we intend to keep the forum alive as it is such a great source of info for everyone. Please bear with us in the interim period as filling Pats shoes and continuing what she, Mary, Mark and countless others have created is a big task, they will all be sorely missed. An email will be sent out with all new details asap in New Year.
Happy New Year to humans and hounds alike!

So pleased that the branch will stay open to carry on Pat's amazing work. I know she will be missed.

Hi there - glad to hear that the great work is set to continue. I’d like to help somehow but I’m in Hertfordshire so too far away to volunteer in person. happy to help out on social media or the website if you need assistance there. Would love to get something set up on instagram for Dunton? Just give me a shout! Nicky & Sonny Spark

I was very sad to hear of Pat leaving, but once again fully understand. I am so pleased that the work will continue and wish you a very successful future, and like you, my concern is the dogs, and always will be.
I shall look forward to looking at your website once it is set up, and will spread the word about your kennels.
I wish you all a happy new year, and to all those lovely greyhounds too.
Much love
Jo and Ollie aka Pickapocketortwo.

It's a tragic end to "Greyhoundhomer" but I'm delighted that the branch will continue- I've always felt that it is the most supportive of branches with the kindest supporters - it's been an honour to be involved - even in a small way.
I hope that we'll still be able to sell jams, marmalades and chutneys at our fundraisers - won't know what to do with myself otherwise!
Here's to the New Year :-)

Although I am often tied up with looking after dogs for Aveley Pet Services I am happy to help when I can. If you need any assistance particularly with social media, I would be happy to help.
