I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. It is heartbreaking to loss them, but when they pass away at such a young and unexpected time it is even harder.
It made me sad to think Elmo was your only friend, do you not have anyone supporting you at this sad time.? If this is the case, please email and I will always come back to you and support you.
These gorgeous dogs come into our lives, and yes we love them so much and we can only hope they feel the love and kindness we give them. I am sure Elmo felt that from you, so please take comfort from this.
I am thinking of you.
Much love
Jo

So sorry for your loss. I have lost 2 greyhounds in the past so understand how you are feeling. On both occasions I rehomed very quickly and while it didn't lessen the pain it was another greyhound out of kennels in a forever home. As time passes I have never forgotten my lovely girls and occasionally shed a tear for what I have lost. My latest girl has been with me now for 4 years. I don't know your personal circumstances but hope your pain will lessen and maybe you may even consider another hound, not to replace Elmo but as a new friend.
Take care
Pat S

I've only just seen this. I was so sorry to hear about Elmo, so tragic, especially as he was so young.
Be kind to yourself. I hope in time you will find comfort from the memories of the good home you gave him.
Years ago I used to be a volunteer for the pet bereavement service (before it went over to the Blue Cross), so don't feel you can't ring them. The people there do understand how you can deeply grieve for a pet when they die- after all you have lost a friend, as you say.
We all understand that pain too, so sending you warm thoughts.
