Dog hammocks for cars are amazing! I had no idea these existed till Farah the greyhounds parents told me about them! We'd had a few journeys holding lily to stop her falling down the footwell on the back seats. Anyway these are brilliant and lily now loves her car journeys and nestles down straight away The one we got was only £17.99 from Amazon, we put Lilys duvet in it for extra comfort. I wish we'd had this taking lily home from the kennels. I'd really recommend, so thought I'd share here incase anyone else might find it useful Here's a not very good pic of lily in her car hammock, not a great pic but hopefully shows how it works http://instagram.com/p/BQgSMMABais

We bought one when we got our new car, yes they are great. We even have a mat attached to put over the edge when they jump out to save the car getting scratched.
We also put Ollies dog bed and duvet in the back and he loves it, he just sleeps, and you wouldn't know he was there.......that is until he decides to pass wind!! Lol

It is also useful to use when taking garden waste to the dump as it protects your car.

I just realised I have made a mistake......when I say about the mat being useful for when Ollie jumps out, I was wrong, as he is picked up and carried out, and in for that matter. Since he jumped in and bumped his head many months ago he now refuses to jump in on him own and waits for us to pick him up and put him in. He only jumps out if he is somewhere new and excited to get out, funny that! Cheeky little thing, he acts like a little princess sometimes!lol

Seriously though the mat is good for protecting the edge of the boot as the dog jumps in and out!
