Well no improvement so far, I don't know, think, i am being impatient! He is dying go for walks! I am only doing a small one in morning. So I took him for a small one last night and he powers on. Towards the end of the walk just before home he started nipping at his three toe foot. Is it his toe or shoulder? Wish he could talk! Going to try a good soak this weekend as Pat suggested and the toothpaste test for corns. He is still doing the running man after wees and poos, surely if its that uncomfortable he would avoid that!?

I wonder if it is an infection if he is nipping at the toes. Something is clearly irritating him in the toe area I would say. I would have thought if he was in pain he would be panting, that is a sign, and trembling.
Please please let us know how he gets on with the referral, and best of luck.

Hi jo He only did it that day, he is booked in at Cambridge vet school on the 7th march. He is still having a play and doing the running man after a poo. Still doing yoga stretches, I am so stumped as to what this is, happy to lay all over me with this bad shoulder. Just still hobbling about and going 3 legged now??
Other half thinks if from his broken toe (back from October) over compensating caused himself further issues. I haven't a clue

It's a real mystery isn't it. I wonder too if it is a case he is overcompensating, please do let me know how he gets on, I am so keen to know the outcome.
Thinking of you both
Love

Jack has been over at the hospital since Tuesday and can come home tomorrow;) He has had xrays on the paws and ultrasound to his shoulders. Which show arthritis in his paw and mild arthritis in his shoulders. He has been pulled about often to find any further issues but he screams intermittently so they cannot fully say whether he is being a drip... which he is or really in pain. There was talk of having a camera put into his shoulder muscles, MRI etc. At stage its going to be non steroid pain meds and short walks. We need to go back in 3 weeks. Missing him dearly and I think Peg is too.

Thank you for letting us know how he is doing, and at least it is not serious. I wonder if cod liver oil capsules would help him, it helped my mum and dads dog as he was a cavalier King Charles spaniel and had joint pain, it may be an idea to run it passed the vet.
I can imagine how much you miss him, the house is just a house without them with us, and just feels soleless, bet he will get fussed over big time when he is home.
Much love

Been awake since 5am its like Christmas. My other hound is very shy and does not do cuddles like jack!! She has spent all her time in bed. Although they are not close, think she has been a little sad he is not about. I have a ton of questions about supplements etc

The boy is so happy to be home! Vets have discharged him with arthritis in tri toe paw, ankle and shoulder in the left leg. He has to have 3/4 15 min walks for 2 weeks and on to 20 mins in 3/4 weeks. They cannot pin point any other nasty that could be causing this discomfort at this stage. He is on a non steroid pain killer and i have to take him back in 3 weeks. No being an idiot!, was advised to walk on grass and get a ramp for car. He was very lame when we got home and was not using his paw at all. This morning we had a little walk and he did well, all he did was sleep yesterday once home he seemed to be shattered at the whole experience.

That is such good news, bet you haven't stopped smiling all day. I wonder if there could be a way of getting some heat to it to help ease the pain for the boy. Now that summer is on its way and the cold spell is over that may also help him.
Thanks for the update.

Just an update on Jack, no different at all still walking the same way off pain killers I spoke to the vet Thursday to see if I am ment to see improvement but they seem a little miffed too. Don't know if its lack of muscle or pain that's keeping this hobble going. Part of me wants him to swim to build that muscle back up but would like the go ahead of the vet first before I begin
