When Ben was 'roaching' a couple of weeks ago we noticed a small swelling on his bottom, which grew quickly over a couple of days. We assumed was a blocked anal gland, but when we took him to Daniel he said it was a perianal adenoma tumor. This was very worrying as it is usually 'fed' by testosterone, more common in an un neutered dog and the cure is castration. As Ben was castrated 6 1/2 years ago there was a strong chance that it was a secondary tumour. Luckily for us Daniel removed it without sedation,(poor Ben, not a nice experience ) and after a week of waiting the result came back that it was benign. It may come back, but for now Ben is much happier. The lesson to us is to keep a close eye on the small changes, and never assume anything.
