Archie Beanz came to stay with us today - he's super-confident and we hoped that he would help with Alex' therapy. He's only been here a few hours and the change in Alex' demeanour has been phenomenal. I think he sees Archie as the big bruvva he's always wanted and has been cuddling up to Archie for comfort and, for the first time, zooming round the garden (we're closely monitoring how the extra exercise affects his damaged foot). It was such an emotional moment - I hope that you can see the pics in this facebook album: www.facebook.com/sue.cook.507/media_set?set=a.10211533657563985.1073741920.1440854080&type=3&pnref=story

That is brilliant, and he looks so happy too. It seems you have a nice big garden for Alex, so plenty of zoomies to come. Just an idea if Alex likes the company of the other dog, how about taking on another greyhound!
I have been sent a video of Ollie racing and I keep watching it and smiling. Today I plan to take it to work to show the people I work with, I am like a proud parent.
Ollie goes for a run in our local park in the enclosed picnic area where I know he is safe, and of course in our garden at home but it is still nice to see him run during his race days.
Well done on the progress of Alex, you are clearly making him so happy.
much love
Jo and Ollie (Pickapocketortwo)

That's wonderful news Sue, perhaps Jo is right, find a new brother or sister for Alex, has he come to you yet for cuddles? I'm not on Facebook but I looked at the photos , looked like he was really enjoying his zoomies. Fred and Lily (Keston Arrow)

Our plan is to adopt a sister for Alex eventually but we thought that Archie Beanz, being experienced and steady, would be a better therapy hound for Alex. Archie is staying with us for a while (until his mum misses him!) and he is being a brilliant big bruvva to Alex....
Alex comes closer to us every day, but not close enough for fuss/cuddles, though he does enjoy a fuss when he's in his bed and will stop for reassurance/fuss when we're out walking on lead.
There is a long way to go but he improves a little every day :-)

Love love love to see greyhounds loving to run and thoroughly enjoying themselves. Brings a smile which lasts all day (and more).

The photographs were lovely to see how he's enjoyed playing. I love hearing how he's getting on
