Feels like Sasha adopted me! Well, thats how it feels like....lol Met her while visiting the RGT Darlington branch, where Janet (kind of like a lovely matron/nanny) offers a loving home for the Greyhounds, and has helped me with every step. Sasha is a 2 year old former racer. She is beautiful, so elegant, dainty, pretty....and very lady like, (well apart from the pumps) Greyhounds have a presence that is more human than...well most humans One week in and we have overcame many obstacles.....Her nervousness, Mirrors, the TV, the Stairs!!....but we will keep going. Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on becoming the proud owner of a retired racing greyhound.
Sasha may seem a little aloof, but remember this is a whole new ball game for her, it's as if she has just landed on planet earth where she has to learn and adapt to her new life. Over the coming weeks you will see her morph into all the attributes we expect of a greyhound and she will repay you with bucketfulls of love.
Enjoy your girl and please keep us posted.

Thank you so much Shes amazing. Every day we are seeing something "new" from her, and today (day 6) she even started playing with a plush toy. I cant say I have ever seen a dog with so many facial expressions....I can fully appreciate how people fall in love with them.

Welcome to the forum.
As Pat says this is only the beginning, they gradually come out of their shell, show their true personality and gain confidence. But beware, greyhounds are addictive (and I have 3 now!!)

I am so glad Sasha is doing well. It seems to me she is settling well as she is playing, I can see a good bond forming here!!
I love Greyhounds, whenever I see one my heart lifts every time. I love all dogs, but in my opinion you cannot beat a Greyhound. We have had three now, our last one was deaf and he was so clever he understood sign language, his name was Spooky, he was all white!
Best Wishes
Jo and Ollie (Pickapocketortwo)

Attachment DeletedWe went for a good explore today....Sasha stopped to take in the air by the river....then.....saw a bunny! Attachment DeletedShe quickly sprang into pursuit mode...as you can tell by her ears! And after a 5 minute chase, with me being dragged along.....we returned home to "rest" the only way a hound can!
