Dear Pat, We wanted to email you to let you know that sadly, our Penny had been very ill recently and we took the dreadful decision to have Penny put to sleep on the 14th May. Penny had developed tumours in her chest and abdomen. She lost a great deal of weight very quickly. We did not want her to suffer and it has broken our hearts to let her go. We are absolutely devastated to lose our beautiful, gentle girl. She was the perfect companion and was loved by everyone who met her. So many people who are not dog people have said to us, "I don't usually like dogs but your Penny was just so lovely." She was a brilliant advert for Greyhounds and a wonderful big sister to our two children. We cannot believe she is gone and we are struggling with her absence. Thank you for helping bring Penny into our lives - she was just perfect. From, John & Michelle Branch

It's so sad when our greyhounds go to the rainbow bridge but so moving to read about the love and devotion that they inspired. We can never have enough time with them.
Run free Penny - I feel for those you've left behind :-)
