Hi All I am new to the world of greyhounds but have had 3 lurchers and an afghan previously. We adopted Syd from the Dogs Trust yesterday. Didn't realize what a big boy he was, but a really gentle giant. He is a black greyhound of approx. 6 years. What a beautiful boy though! I hope to learn lots from reading the forum.....

Welcome to the forum. Great choice of dog.
The hounds really don't look that big in kennels do they? It's only when you get them home and they are at eye level to the kitchen counters you realise they are on the large side.

Welcome to the forum. You'll be well used to sight hounds then, from your previous experience of dogs. I think, generally greyhounds are easier than Afghan hounds and certainly much lazier than lurchers! But, they are addictive, just to warn you!

Kya! Our Afghan was one of a kind. The scruffiest dog you will ever meet, the Frank Muirs What A Mess. She was so much fun though.
