Just to let you know Dylan is settling in well and already knows his new name. Nothing has phased him, the washing machine, hoover, even fireworks he has taken in his stride. He enjoyed a great half hour chasing and barking at the lawnmower - oh he was so pleased with himself! Any loud noise and he is there investigating what it was - it could be something fun. He has enjoyed watching Countryfile, particularly likes chasing the sheep dogs and the cows as they race across the screen, then stands barking and looking out the window to see where they've gone. He constantly has to follow us to check what we're doing, but seems to settle down fine when we're not there. Obviously recharging the batteries for when we get back. He is getting better on the lead and is starting to learn to walk next to us rather than in front, and we've even been allowed through the door first on a couple of occasions! He has had a couple of accidents and actually marked a chair right in front of us! We put him in the garden for 10 mins which he got a bit humpy about. He has also done it when we've not been there, any suggestions on how we deal that? Need to get him socialised, as he was a bit hypa at the vets with all the different dogs and we don't meet many people with dogs when we're walking him. Does anybody know if they still have monthly greyhound walks at Priory Park in Bedford? Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Isn't it great to watch them settle into their new surroundings. Loved the picture of Dylan roaching.
I used to be a regular on the walks at Priory Park but due to commitments couldn't always go (lst Sunday of the month, 10.00am at Rangers Hut). I think there still is another informal walk of greyhounds/lurchers. I'll try and find out and come back to you.

Hi Denise
I haven't forgotten that I was to get back to you re. the monthly greyhound walk at Priory Park Bedford but have been unableable to make contact with the organiser.
I don't know where you are located, but a walk run by Accolade Hounds popped up on my facebook. They give details of a walk later in September which may interest you.

Hi Denise
Re Priory Park, Bedford
While on my craft stall on Saturday, I met a lady who remembered me from the Sunday walks. She told me they are no longer held due to lack of numbers.

Thank you Pat. That's a shame, it would have been good for Dylan to have a bit of socializing.
