Hello, Sunday 21st June sees the return of the Great British Greyhound Walk, an annual dog-walking event that brings together greyhounds, lurchers, other sighthounds and their owners to raise awareness of the breeds and show the public just what wonderful pets they make. To ‘make a day of it’ the walks are often followed by a social or fundraising event: picnics, BBQ’s, mini dog shows, awareness stalls etc. which helps promote the hounds even more and hopefully raise some much needed funds to help those still waiting for homes. Some walks just stop for a chat and cuppa or take a visit to the local. I have had a look online and the walk which is closest to us is being held at Belhus Woods Country Park, Romford Road. It would be great if a crowd of us could get together and attend to be part of this walk Walk starts at 10am meeting at the Cafe, parking is £2.50 for the whole day. The GBGW has lots more info online at www.greatbritishgreyhoundwalk.org.uk with a shop and Bandana Competition if you would like to get involved. Hope you can make it! Lurch and Jet will be there not sure how 'blinged up' their bandanas will be but will give it a go! Pia xx

I am leading the GBGW at Belhus Country Park. It is the first time there has been a GBGW there and it will be fabulous if we can get lots of hounds there, showing off what fantastic pets they are.
The prizes for the Bling my Bandana competition are amazing...Meggie Moo collars, Nellie Doodles, 15Kg of Simon's Pet Food and a £50 donation to the sighthound charity of your choice.
There is only about a week left to buy a bandana so get yours today!!!

Had a lovely walk at Belhus Woods today as part of the GBGW. I believe the current total of hounds that have walked so far today is over 1600 with more numbers still to be counted. Here are some pics from the day xx Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted
