Pets at Home Chingford are having a fundraising month, which starts on 15th April. This is part of a PAH national drive, but Greyhoundhomer are Chingford's sponsored charity and they are usually in the top 2 fundraisers in the region! The last drive just before Christmas raised over £2,000 for us, so it is really worth our while supporting this. We always get more money when the hounds are there.
The staff there are really supportive and Kim's mum usually makes loads of wonderful cakes for us to sell, and the people of Chingford seem very generous, too!
Tony & I will cover as much of the weekends as we can, but probably won't be able to do all day every saturday & sunday for the month. So, if you're able to help that would be fantastic, it would be great if we could get cover for each weekend. If you could let me know if you're able to cover, we'll try and work around this (lots of DIY at home!)
(I'll also try and do a few weekdays depending on when the school holidays are, as they get quite a few children visiting then and that always helps)

I could do Andrea but Pia says Lurch isn't a great fan of Pets at Home and doesn't settle. Bless him. Xxx

Not sure what it is but he cries when he is there. I think it's because the Trailer isn't there haha! You could always take Jet but you will want to bring her back x

Thanks very much, Caz, Andrea and Pia, we can liaise nearer the time.
Pia I've seen the size of Caz's handbag, she loves greyhounds and and you know how small the hounds can roll themselves up......!!!

I don't mind taking Jet at all. We can arrange days etc between us. It isn't a problem. I'm pretty flexible. X

Hi all
Apologies for the belated post, but have had a difficult couple of weeks.
Tony & I plan to be at Pets at Home tomorrow and mostly me on sunday. But we'd be really grateful if anyone could do any half days (or more) in the following 3 weekends, as we have family member who's been ill and going into a care home and there is LOADS to do!
Thanks, as ever Sue XX

Hi Sue,
I can't do this weekend unfortunately but should be able to help out in future weekends. I haven't got a hound but I am more than happy to chat away and sell cakes if the managers mum is making them. (And of course eat them too haha!)
it would be good to see you and Tony again too. Xxx

Well we took Abbey and Blaze to Pets at Home today. We know Blaze was going to be a star as usual but we weren't too sure about how Abbey would react. He got straight in my car and laid down. Once at Pets at Home he loved it and his tail didn't stop wagging. He loves kids and walked straight up to them for a fuss. Everyone was shocked he hadn't been homed and people asked a lot of questions which is good. There was quite a few small dogs and he wasn't phased by them, in fact he completely ignored them. A few people took leaflets and were interested in him. You never know someone may call and enquire about him. Sue was rather taken by him so I will work on her and Tony more!!! Nothing wrong with making two hounds a trio!
Thank you to Katie and Andrew for letting us take Emma and Blaze, it was a good day and hopefully we raised some money! X

Hi Caroline, I rarely get to these events as I am always working but if you are going and fancy taking one of my hounds, Lyra or Simon, you are more than welcome.

X As Caz says Blaze was her usual lovely self yesterday! And I was amazed by Abbey yesterday and Jimmy/Tommy today, they were both wonderful, especially as they were straight from the kennels. Abbey wagged his tail a lot (something which took Brennan years!!) and Jimmy/Tommy leaned against people, looking up with his lovely brown eyes and not at all bothered by small dogs coming into the store. So tempting! Thanks Caz for bringing them along. Lovely to see Caz, Pia and Emma, as well. We will be at Pets at Home next Saturday, but won't be able to go on Sunday, so if anyone is able to, please can you let me know?
