Hi we've often read the forum comments but never joined in before. Have learnt a lot from other hound owners. We adopted our girl Silky 2 years ago & she,s adorable making us laugh with her ways & antics. We've not had any health problems but recently was introduced to the famous greyhound death scream! We've always clipped her nails without any fuss but now she'll scream at the sight of the clippers & her nails have all but a few fell out. There seems to be new nails beneath the old ones and she seems much happier once their off. Should we leave the remaining long ones to fall out or try to clip them?

Hi make sure that she does not have an infection in the nail or nail bed as this is one thing that makes them fall out, Keep touching and playing with her feet so that she lets you do that without worry, then she will slowly get round to letting you clip them again, maybe try one at a time. The nails should generally not fall out unless she is knocking them out when running pat
