I noticed twice lately jack having shakey back legs. Is it normal when they have been on their feet a while? I guess other dogs get to have a rest by sitting.

I've observed this in Ollie but he does have a bad back/muscle weakness so will tremble when he's been standing too long. Ty will can also tremble when he's a bit scared/uncertain.
Although greyhound don't sit, they are champions at lying down so I've never been worried that they're not getting enough rest :-)
I'd say keep an eye on it and if it recurs then it's worth having a quick chat with the vet - it may be that he has a bit of back pain and that's worth treating....

Bens legs started shaking quite badly about 1 1/2 years ago, as it seemed to be getting worse we took him to our vet (Daniel Doherty). He said it is a common problem in ex racers of his age and is a weakness in his lower back. He did give a name, but I have forgotten it! He has been on carprieve tablets since, and it is much better. We go for a check every. 3 months, and he has 3 days off the tablets, the shaking starts again so we know he will have to stay on tablets for rest of his life. He will be 12 in April (everything crossed) and still complains if we try and cut his walks short!

Just a belated follow up and a wonder if anyone else has had this.Molly Alice is now almost 13 and over the last couple of weeks her back legs have started having a mind of their own ,let me explain when standing her rear leg will come of the ground as if she wants to scratch her belly this also happens when she is walking .when she is lying down her her rear leg will sort of go into spasm and shake .If you stroke her body side her leg goes up.She is fine in herself and will go into puppy mode but that doesn't last long. Now I know she is 13 which is a good age for a grey but just wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem
