Hi All,
Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get Jet to stop going for a wee on a couple of the beds we have indoors. I know we haven't had her long and she is still learning whilst we are out at work but everyday I am having to wash one or the other.
Any ideas will be appreciated!
Thanks
Pia x

If you catch her doing it while your there, tell her no and take her straight out until she goes wee outside then praise her, so she understands that outside is ok and not indoors. when you clean up the mess do it when she is not looking, and use a neutralizer spray. I hope this helps. Diane

Could try a dap diffuser or collar on her , it helps with Blaze. They are a bit expensive but may be worth a go.

I had a similar issue with Kia when I first got her. She would pee on my bed, whether it was in her sleep or awake, I've never found out. I had to 'ban' her from the bedroom except when I was in there and she stopped, and didn't pee anywhere else indoors. She would actually do it when I was in the house not just when I was out. I just wonder if it's a slight insecurity problem that they eventually grow out of.

Thank you. Going to try the odour neutralising spray first and see how it goes x

Hi Pia
If this is a new thing for Jet then it's worth asking the vet to check her for bladder infections - that's a common cause of leakage - have a word with your vet and ask them to test her urine. We've found this to be a common cause of leakage with several of our hounds and a course of antibiotics easily fixes it.
It's worth checking, because if you leave a bladder infection untreated it can become uncomfortable and, more seriously, can track back to the kidneys and cause damage there. This happened with our old lurcher - we found that she had a nasty chronic urinary infection bubbling away - by the time we realised, she'd already lost most of her kidney function - it's not a mistake that we'll make again :-(
