Hiya, George has started marking his territory in our hall and I dont know how to stop it. Its happened several times and we put it down to house training and not letting him out frequently enough, but its the same spot, almost every day. He actually went out this morning first thing, then came back in to wee in the same spot Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks. Stephanie

I find a mixture of vinegar and bicarb to be very good at getting rid of any smells too.

re marking, go to the pet shop and get a good pet deodoriser, it takes the smell away from the house and more importantly away from the dog, at the moment he thinks that is the right place to go as it has his smell there, so if you do the deodoriser he cannot smell his place anymore and will quickly learn with a few good boys outside is the place for him to go pat

Thank you wolf and Pat for your advice. We don't have a pet shop nearby so i've sent the hubby off to Tescos to buy vinegar and bicarb for tonight (we have to do something!)
Just wondering what you do with it? I'm assuming you put the vinegar on the area and then sprinkle the bicarb over it. Is that right?

hi ya we had the same problem for a while, if joe was going to go in the house would always be the same spot. another good cleaner is biological soap powder dissolved in warm water, the enzymes in the soap powder not only kill off any urine/germs but also stop the dog being able to smell anything hence no more marking! i tend to clean up the 'excess' with a cloth then thoroughly soak the area with the solution, let it dry and hoover up, it seems to work a treat and its not expensive!

Yeah, I usually put the vinegar down and liberally sprinkle the bicarb over it. Fizzes like a mad thing!
