Well, Hurry on Kitty has become Calamity Kitty! She managed to fall in the Creek ;D I was just at the point of taking my boots off to go after her when she managed to thrash around and get out. Dear hubby did say he was just at the point of offering to hold my coat - yeah, thanks love! It was quite scary really, she just kinda fell in then disappeared. Dippy dog. She came out stinking and when we got home she just knew she was going to have a bath and put her 'woe is me face' on. Lesson learnt, don't walk her near rivers

Did she catch any fish? Not the best swimmers Greyhounds, I think that's best left to the Newfoundlands of this world.
I always keep a tight lead on Sean when we're on Bideford Quay, being a working environment a large part of it has no guard rails so disappearing into the river would be quite easy, particularly if after those pesky seagulls!

It's like a baptism - every hounds that comes to our house feels the needs to fall into pond - emerging covered in stinky pondweed is a badge of honour!

I was in Norfolk with my previous hound - Dolly - who was off the lead as usual. She took off on a sprint across a field and kept on the 'green stuff' but, unbeknown to her there was a pond covered in duckweed ahead of her. One minute she was there and the next she had totally vanished!! She reappeared about 10 yards further along covered in duckweed - a 'greenhound'!!! This didn't put her off water though as the next incident was at Wick Country Park where she decided, for no obvious reason, to execute a perfect Olympic starting dive into the lake!! I then had to take a dripping wet dog home in my car to dry her off. Lesson learned - ALWAYS have a towel to hand when out with our nutters!!

Well i know i`m safe, as prince won`t even walk through a puddle, let alone a lake or river. Maybe if your water babies love water you should all give them swimming lessons. you never know one could become an olympic swimmer lol.
