I'm wondering if anyone has been successful in clicker training their greyhound? I bought a book which is for greyhound and lurcher training but it uses the clicker and Pepper is afraid of the noise at the moment. I wonder if there are quieter ones or if there are alternatives? Thoughts anyone?

I've got that book too but I never bought a clicker!
I've seen clicker training used two ways:
You click to reinforce good/desired behaviour OR You click to distract from unwanted behaviour
I used the exercises in the book, but instead of using a clicker to reinforce the desired behaviour, I used treats - this only worked at home because Blue (who was the main recipient) found mischief much more exciting than food when he was out and about. But his recall was good.
I can heartily recommend dog training classes - we've found it very useful for most of our hounds, apart from Ty, who is just finds it all too scary!
Hope that's helpful!

Thanks. Unfortunately I can't really find any classes near me and I don't have regular access to a car. I tried the clicker again today and she didn't flinch as much. I think as she's growing in confidence she's better able to cope with louder noises so I'll try building up to it.
