Paddy has recently taken to digging in the garden, fortunately so far it's only been around the edges but I don't want him doing it at all. When we tell him to stop, he just gives us a look and carries on (I think he's feeling pretty settled in now!)
Can anyone help with info on why he's doing it, and ways to stop him? I saw another thread which talked about digging in relation to going to the toilet, but I don't think that link is there in this case.
Thanks in advance...
Tim

My previous dog had a habit of digging holes in the garden then laying in them to cool down!! Any chance Paddy is doing that?

Bart never did it, and Beau doesn't seem to but he has other things he enjoys like rubbing himself all along every shrub he can find. Mersey has got a bee in her bonnet every now and again to dig the side border, I think as earlier stated that she is looking for cool earth, I once had a rabbit who on a hot day dug a long trench then threw herself into it with legs in the air, I was quiet worried but she just wanted somewhere cool.
