Hi,
I just wondered how your Greyhound asks you when he/she wants to go out for a toilet?
I know this is Jaytee's first home, and he is adjusting. But as I work from home I take him out regularly, and so far he's been excellent! he wakes me up at 6 to tell me he wants to go out.. but iv noticed the last few days he looks at me and makes like a weeping noise. Im not sure if hes telling me he wants a toilet, I take him just incase, but he doesn't go when out.. he may mark up a lil... This could just be because he his still adjusting to his new environment, or he could be asking me to take him out for a toilet...
Just wondered, if in your experience, this weeping is indeed him asking for me to take him out...

when i first got prince he would make a weeping noise and pace up and down near the door, then he found he had a bark and that is how he tells me. But what is nice is he puts his head under my neck to wake me in the morning as i`m not a morning person lol.

My two don't really "ask" but they do pace if they really need to go. Generally I just have a routine where I let them out every 3-4 hours. When out on walks every time they do a wee I say "good wee wee" so they know the word and then at home I open the back door and let them out saying "go wee wee". I then shut them in the garden and don't let them in until they have either both done their toilet or they have been out there five minutes yet done nothing. If they do nothing I just repeat the process in about an hour.

Betty doesn't 'ask' verbally as she doesn't bark!! She usually stands at the back door and waits until someone lets her out . I also let her out every 2 hours in the evening just in case, although if there's no one home in the evening she rarely wees indoors and if she does have an accident it is always on the same mat in the conservatory (although that tends to be if the weather turns cold). Also when I let her out in the evenings I always say 'gone on wee wee time' - it seems to work . When she has had her last one before bed she always goes to the cupboard for a treat as I have always given one then

If Sean wants to go out to get his jobs done he will either get figgety, pace and possibly whine. However if we happen to be in the kitchen where the door to the garden is, he might just go and stand at the door. He's only wee'd in the house on three occassions. None of those times were his fault, twice he lost a bit of bladder control after being put under following dew claw opps. and the third time neither Em and I were in and my mum and Emmas' nan were in charge and they mis-read his request to go out for a wee and after getting him to go into my mums living room he wee'd up the Xmas tree in there. Every time Sean goes out he will always wee, even if he doesn't really need to. As a general rule Seans 'wee tank' is unbelievable, and sometimes we have to make him go out to wee because we know they'll be something there to give.

Baby will keep pacing and going to the back door,if no-one happens to notice she'll start whining as she doesn't bark either.

Mousha will pace around a bit when she needs to go, but if we don't get the hint she will then come and ask, usually by headbutting us! lol

Mersey doesn't make any noise just looks at you, so was very hard when she first came home nearly 4 years ago as we had to guess if she went out of the room. Bart was always noisy came running up to you then ran out of the room, Beau is a bit like Bart although he makes a noise of a night during the day he will just moan and then walk out of the room, they all show you in their own way.
