I can't believe the first vet sent you away, that is shocking. I hope the greyhound vet is able to sort him out. We have got our fingers and paws crossed for you. X

been to see prince this morning he is on a drip. and they are keeping him for another night. he is a lot brighter today and a little stressed, but was pleased to see me. talking to the vet his blood showed very high levels of dehydration, his spleen was larger they think that he has an infection so are treating him with anti biotics, they are not ruling out pancreatitis. they need to run more test. but fingers crossed he maybe well enough to come home tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that he's got to be in for a bit longer, but he's in the best place - they can keep an eye on his treatment as he goes along.
So horrible to leave them at the vet's - I share your worry and hope that he is able to come back to you tomorrow.

So sorry to hear of Prince's diagnosis. It's one of those illnesses that flares up, then subsides and because it is intermitent sometimes gets missed. How lucky that the 2nd Vet was more knowledgeable than the first and was able to give him the immediate attention he needed.
Prince, we hope you get well soon, we are all rooting for you and your Mum.
luv

my boy is now home. he is on antibiotics and is still fighting the infection. they are not sure how he has got it, but his bloods came back as normal today, so that is a great sign. he has lost a bit of weight, but with a lot of TLC and some special extra food we`ll have him fighting fit again.

Oh what a relief - he's been very much in my thoughts over the weekend. I'm sure he'll perk up now that he's on the right treatment and I'm sure he'll really appreciate the benefits of home after a stay in doggie hospital.

Phew that's a huge relief, so pleased he's well enough to be home, for lots of mummy attention. Hope you're ok too, it's such a stressful time for you.

Hi Diane Sorry I didn't post over the weeked (I was away and didn't log on, so didn't know about poor Prince) Poor boy, and of course poor you, it's so worrying when they are ill. I'm so glad he's home again. I'm sure he will thrive and be back to normal with all the TLC you'll give him.
