i`m worried about prince. for the past 3/4 days prince has not been waking me up to go out in the morning about 7am instead he has been lying in till gone 8. this morning it was 8.45. and when i take him out he does a couple of wees and wants to come back home. when he is back indoors he goes straight back to bed. he has stopped eating his breakfast so i had decided to give it to him for lunch.but today he has now not eaten all day apart from a sausage roll. he has been out for a lovely run this morning which i thought would cheer him up. he doesn`t seem that bothered to going out, and seems very sad and i`m not sure why.

Ok, I know I'm a paranoid hu-mum but if your dog shows any changes in behaviour/demeanour then it's time to take them to the vet.
The simplest explanation is that he's in a bit of pain somewhere - if he's reluctant to move but not particularly lame then the most obvious cause is a pulled muscle in his back - have a look to see if he's a bit 'arched' in his back or is reluctant to jump up/do stairs. We've had this a lot with our hounds, who have been quite active and pull muscles all the time! A few days of anti-inflammatory and rest usually puts them right within a week.
BUT, don't speculate - get a proper diagnosis and keep us posted :-)

Totally agree with Sue here, I would get him checked out with the vet. Please let us know how he gets on.

Good luck Diane, I'm sure it's something the vet can sort out with a few painkillers or antibiotics. let us know.

been to the vets and spent an hr an half waiting to be seen only for the vet to tell me there is nothing wrong. i`m getting a second opinion at 5 to day. prince is not a well boy his symptoms are now shivering even thou he isn`t cold, he has only eaten a little of his food today. he is very tired and cannot shake and takes 3/4 goes at getting up my stairs into the flat. he also is making like cough noises like he is clearing his throat. the vet checked his tempeture and glucose level and they were fine, she checked his body and couldn`t find anything. i`m feeling very worried because he is not right in him self, i know there is something wrong and feel sick with worry. i really hope this vet finds something she has been recommended as she owns greys.

I'm so sorry that Prince isn't getting better - you are very sensible to get a second opinion - get referred to a specialist if necessary - you know your dog the best!
I feel for your worry - it's a state I'm very familiar with given the dramas my lot go through (!) - I hope that it proves to be easily fixable. My thoughts are with you - keep us posted.

Baby sends big greyhound kisses and slobbers and hopes her playmate is soon well enough for zoomies at the dog park again

prince went down hill very quickly after seeing the vet at 5 this evening he took blood tests and suspects pancriatitis. he has now been admitted over night on a drip to keep him hydrated as the blood level showed very high levels. this news is very worrying but as sarah has said he is in the best possible hands. i shall be contacted in the morning to see how he is and what the next process will be. i want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and hope that my bundle of softness will be better and home tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed - pancreatitis causes very severe acute pain (according to my sister in law who is a vet) but they can perk up quite quickly once it's resolved - I hope that's the case for Prince.
Lynx was admitted for suspected pancreatitis in 2011 - of course, being him, it wasn't anything that simple - he'd punctured a lung probably from running into something hidden in the snow. He did recover well though....
