Hi all, over the last couple of months Fizz has been hiding her chews in my bed, under my pillows, down by the side of the bed. A lot of the time she'll wait until I've settled down, find where she's hidden it and then start eating it. She isn't doing this all the time just enough for me to notice. Just curious why dogs do this?

Hi Lee it is normal behavour when a dog is full with food, what they do is hide it until such times as they think they would like a little bit more, too good not to have and too good to waste, you must be feeding her just right pat

Since having Fizz I've been really interested in how dogs think and their behaviour. Thank you Pat

Hi Sarah that's OK. It isn't only chews that she'll save. The other day I found she'd pinched a bag of apples and taken them to her bed. She didn't eat them though, just left a few tooth marks. It is hard not to laugh at her. She's even taken a jar of tortoise food (me thinking she wouldn't touch it) Is there anything they won't eat? Lee

Lee Kibble and other dog food - ours wouldn't dream of eating it if there's anything else in the house (preferably stolen!).....
