Hiya Each greyhound is different just remember they have never seen a house or anything before, so have patience with your greyhound and always make sure they go out in the garden straight after their meal and give them lots of praises when they do, it will all be so strange but they usually adapt very quickly to home life. Look forward to hearing and seeing pictures of your greyhound. You will always find help and advice from other owners. Chris

Hi amymay
I have a multi breed household, not by choice but because things just happened!
Originally it was just Molly my 11 year old YorkieX who was joined 3 years ago by Fizz, my lovely greyhound who adapted to home life from the moment she walked through the door. Molly was very much involved in the homing process, she met Fizz at the Kennels and also went along on the day Fizz came home
In the last year circumstances have changed and at some time during the day I now look after my daughter/grandchildren's 2 young chihuahuas and 2 young staffies. In addition, for the past 6 months I have also been looking after a Chihuahua/Yorkie X whose Mum has gone into residential care.
As each one arrived over a period of 6 months I was amazed how Molly and Fizz just accepted them and how well they all got on. There is a strict pecking order, Molly, Fizz are always 1st and 2nd, followed by the boy staffie and then the girl, finally the chi's in no particular order.
Although Fizz is not particularly cat friendly, the staffies also live with a cat.
I am the first to admit we have been exceptionally lucky and it's great to see them all together. I've got some lovely photos to upload of Fizz with the boy staffie once I get sorted out on photobucket.
I bet you are counting the days. I hope all goes well with your new greyhound and that both dogs bond and become firm friends.
Pat S

We helped re home a greyhound a few years ago and the lady in question (who had the greyhound) her daughter has a staff and right from the start she used to bring it around she muzzled them but in no time they got on well, the greyhound also now has met westies and a labrador in the family and gets on well, so hopefully if both have got good temperaments they should be fine. Reading your other messages concerning muzzles and such it sounds as though you are being very sensible, so I am sure they will get on well.
