Hi to all at the Kennels Just to let you know that Thanks Patsy is settling in well. You were all so lovely and supportive and I think willing us to take him home and like you, we think he is an absolute poppet. We've decided to call him Patrick. Many thanks Patricksparents

Hi Patricksparents! Lovely to hear how one of the babies is settling in. So pleased Patrick has found you. I've only just started walking the dogs since Christmas, and they are all worming their way into my heart. Thanks for posting on here and welcome. Hazel ;D

Hello and welcome Patricks parents and of course Patrick, what colour is your new baby? Great support on here should you need it. Me and Cassie (black 5yr old) are housemates, we've been together 15months and in that time she has blossomed into a friendly outgoing girl who loves and greets people. Greyt choice of dog. Yvonne

Congratulations on giving Patrick a forever home. I saw you take him for a walk. He's a lovely boy. We are owned by Betty, a beautiful black bitch that came into our lives 2 months ago. Maybe we'll get to meet on one of the walks. Nicky

Good luck with Patrick. He was very much a favourite with the regular walkers.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family. Patrick will give you so much love and he will simply lap up all the love, fuss and attention you give him. Oh, and he will take over your sofa!
I like brindles too, but then my Fizz is a brindle and she is Patrick's half sister.
Enjoy

How exciting - Patrick does indeed sound like a poppet (I remember seeing his pic on the site and thinking what a handsome boy he was) Welcome to the forum and congrats on choosing what is easily the best breed in the world.....as Yvonne put it - they're greyt! We have 2 of the dafties (Vinny & Gracie Lu) and life just wouldn't be the same without them (we'd have our sofas back for a start lol! ) Sarah x

Congratulations on giving Patrick a forever home. He sounds like a really lovely boy.
I have been owned by my baby girl, Mousha for just over a year and a half now. I can honestly say that adopting her is one of the best things I have EVER done. I really can't imagine my life without her. What Sarah says is true. Greyhounds truly are the best breed, so gentle, loving, affectionate and loyal. I have heard a saying relating to greyhounds that I have certainly found to be true - 'Once you go grey, you never go back'!!!
Congratulations again and I'm sure you will have loads of happy and fun times together :-)

Patrick (Thanks Patsy) is dark brindle. He is lovely, very laid back and gentle and he says thank you to everyone for the big welcome to his mum and dad. He went to the vets today to have a check up and some attention to a little end of tail wound and Bill declared him in fine fettle and a lovely boy! He has some antibiotics to help heal the infection but otherwise he is grabbing each new experience with both paws - shops, bath, pilchards, cuddles, fur bed....happy as Larry (or should I say Patrick) of course! He's not so keen on getting in and out of the car but we're pretty sure that will improve soon. PS to the walkers - he loved you all too ;-)

Thanks Bronwen - yes he is a handsome boy - very! You wanted to hear about him - so here is a little idea of how he settling in:
Hello from Patrick
I had to ask mummy to write this as I am not computer literate yet. I tolerated having a bath (the parents said it made me smell better), I loved the pilchard treat afterwards, the vets was not too much of a problem, the man checked me over and said I was a lovely boy. I am not keen on the car or the shiny floor they have here but the cuddles are pure bliss. I've been on some nice walks and seem some fluffy things called cats. They look good enough to chase! By the way I thought I'd ask you what a thief means? My mummy was eating a toasted crumpet yesterday - and there was one half left on her plate. She turned to answer the phone and it sort of fell into my mouth - it was lovely and buttery and totally irresistable. Mummy said I was a naughty little thief. She did try to sound cross but was laughing so I don't think I am in too much trouble!
I am very happy in my new house so much so, I wagged my tail yesterday - the parents seemed very pleased and made lots of oooh! aaah! noises. I miss the noises at the kennels and my walkers but forgive me if I say, I think I have landed on my feet here!
Love Patrick x

Well Patrick, it really does sound like you have found yourself a wonderful new mummy and daddy to love you. Don't worry about the crumpet incident -- these things happen and it sounds like mummy is pretty understanding. I'm sure you'll get the hang of the car and the shiny floors soon, but mainly you'll probably just be lounging around on soft furnishings being fed treats. It's a hard life...
